a-message-from-youri-firstly-3-quick
Hi folks! Youri your host of 1+1 at Yuri Muckraker on youtube, also have a soundcloud page which I promise to work on in the coming months. I just wanted to give first an important apology to the Latino Community in the US and at large the immigrant communities in the US for two comments made during the latest episode of 1+1 where when speaking to my guest Elaina Porter of the Pendo Center for Human Rights and Self-Determination when rewatching a dicussion on Black and Latino communities and some of the special economic treatment the US government makes towards immigrants coming to the US I said two remarks that I felt were bigoted and can be perceived as xenophobic and I want to disavow that completely and express my regret for the comments made, check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-pib2oSPn0&t=1612s its one of the first questions I asked and the slightly bigoted remark on other immigrants comes at around 22:10.
And I just wanted to express a Happy International women's Day held last Tuesday. FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY MENTION PEOPLE SHOULD CHECK OUT INTERVIEWS WITH DARAH TEITEL, NORA LORETO AND TAMARA LORINCZ where the topic of feminism was explored, and I hope to have all three of them come back on 1+1 sometime in the future as I love the work they do and value being taught by them. AND I APOLOGIZE FOR BEING UNABLE TO DO A PROGRAM ON FEMINISM. I REALLY WANTED TO BUT SIMPLY was unable because potential GUESTS WERE TOO BUSY or a others I wanted to invite on simply declined , but hopefully better luck next year and regardless I will still try my best to seek out great feminist voices for the program and I just want to say I stand strongly and fearlessly in strong solidarity for women’s liberation, and here’s hoping to smash the patriarchy and put it in the dustbin of history and shredded and vanquished from the planet Earth. I also want to thank the past women who’ve been on this show, each one incredibly inspiring who devote their life to doing superb truthtelling and mythbusting often at a great cost and yet still holding their head up high and continuing to do superb muckraking. These incredible women are Rania Khalek, Mnar Adley, Cindy Sheehan, Elizabeth Vos, Whitney Webb, Anne Garrison, Dr. Maria Cernat, and other greats like Margaret Kimberley, El Jones, Kateri Coyhis, Nakuset, Selina Eggington, Radika Desai, and Jackie Walker, Eva Bartlett and Saheli Chowdury. I know I must be forgetting others if so I apologize a trillion times and would like to say to those women Thank you all for not only coming on 1+1, but really being heroines of mine who constantly are inspiring me to not only try to be the best journalist I can be but also wanting to be a better man, a better person and trying to build a better world for everybody and by being the kick ass superheroines you really are a gift to humanity. And to all you people out there who subscribe to anti-sexism viewpoint, you PEOPLE SHOULD GET THE BOOK “BACKLASH BY SUSAN FALUDI, INVISIBLE WOMEN: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado-Perez but skip chapter and check out and buy the documentaries “Tough Guise: Violence, Media, & the Crisis in Masculinity” starring Jackson Katz and produced by Sut Jhally and the Media Education Foundation, Dreamworlds 3: Desire, Sex & Power in Music Videos by Sut Jhally of the Media Education Foundatiion, Killing Us Softly 3, and 4 by Jean Kilbourne both produced by Sut Jhally, band check her TED Talk on how advertising glorifies violence against women, and pushes narrow sexist imagery of women, check out the incredibly disturbing film “War Zone” by Maggie Hadleigh-West and so fourth and get the books Everyday Sexism and Misogynation: The True Scale of Sexism by Laura Bates. . And folks should enjoy a playlist with the following songs Only Women Bleed by Alice Cooper, Woman/women are the niggers of the world by John Lennon, Keep Ya Head Up by 2Pac, Baby Don’t Cry (Keep ya head up part II) by 2Pac and the Outlawz, UNITY by Queen Latifah, Love is Blind by Eve, Unpretty by TLC, New Agenda by Janet Jackson with Chuck D –, Spit by Kittie, and Cake by Lily Allen. And on that note power to the people and death to patriarchy, violent masculinity and machismo, Gendercide/Femicide, and the everyday sexism. And men please don’t be complicit, don’t be innocent bystanders, don’t see, hear or speak no evil, grow a pair of balls and don’t be one of “male chauvinist boys”, and if you’ve been living that life, its never to late to atone and change for the better and be a better compassionate man.
& Ladies please don’t engage in self-sexism, don’t be a minstrel, don’t ever take the fragile gains made for you for granted and don’t think your in paradise you deserve better & keep on being unapologetically persistent that your grievances are addressed. Fuck the double &triple standards &you have an ally in me &I strongly hope patriarchy gets vanquished,. SEXISM is the issue not you the female.
