The practice of silence and solitude holds great significance, as it leads us to a profound encounter with God. Within the depths of our souls, we yearn for this connection with the Divine. Silence and solitude provide us with the necessary space to quiet our minds and open our hearts to the presence of God. In this stillness, we are able to listen attentively to the whispers of our souls and experience a deep sense of peace and tranquility. Through this sacred practice, we come to understand that our souls are truly nourished by the divine presence of God.

Is it possible to be spiritual in spite of your busyness? Those who are busy seem to think that it's an impossible task. But there is a way to pursue a spiritual life that can alter the imbalance of a busy life. We can learn that from the story of Zacchaeus. (Luke 19:1-10)

We have an invisible enemy working behind our visible reality. That visible reality is called the "world" in the Scriptures. This does not refer to the beautiful world that we live in (e.g. the mountains, the sky, the seas, etc.). It refers to the systems and philosophies of the world. We must understand the nature of "this" world as the Bible describes it so that we can understand also why we struggle in taking care of our souls and the souls of others.

Never Stop Sharing | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. 40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. 41 Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. 42 At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. 43 But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” 44 And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea. (Luke 4:38-44)
When a person comes to faith in Christ for the first time, he or she is usually very zealous. He or she shares his or her faith in Jesus to friends and loved ones alike with boldness and passion. But after a few years, something happens. He or she stops sharing. Why? There could be a lot of reasons. But regardless of the reason, we must never stop sharing the Good News.

God creates us for relationships. But not all relationships are good for us. Some of them are detrimental to our spiritual lives and can harm us or make us ineffective and unproductive. Ironically, the detrimental relationships that the Bible warns us about are not with regard to unbelievers or the people in the world. The apostle Paul says in 1 Cor 5:9-10, "I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case, you would have to leave this world." The Bible warns us to watch out against certain types of believers within the church that can negatively influence us.

12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” 15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:12-16)
Have you ever felt lonely even though you are with a lot of people? Many people get lonely for all sorts of reasons. It's a difficult feeling. People try all kinds of cures but none seem to work. At the end of the day, they still feel lonely. Only the Lord can heal a person of loneliness because He is the only One who knows the root causes of our loneliness.

Main Idea: “Only the Lord Jesus can heal us of loneliness.” (“Tanging Panginoong Jesus lamang ang maaaring magpagaling sa atin sa kalungkutan.”)
How does the Lord heal our loneliness?
Two Ways
1. He heals our spiritual feeling of alienation (vv.12-13).
2. He heals the social system of alienation (vv.14-16).

Sometimes, when you feel desolate or have negative emotions stirring inside your heart, the Lord may be inviting you to enter a waiting period with Him. Learn to trust God during this process. You may not see anything obvious or dramatic happening, but God is at work. Just wait and see.

37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. 38 I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet. 39 You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me. 40 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes. 41 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—to the Lord, but he did not answer. 42 I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them like mud in the streets. 43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me, 44 foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me. 45 They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds. 46 The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! 47 He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me, 48 who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me. 49 Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name. 50 He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing love to his anointed, to David and to his descendants forever.(Psalm 18:37-50)
We are in a spiritual battle each day. Our enemies are unseen. They operate in the heavenly realms using earthly structures to destroy people's lives. We must put on our full spiritual armor and we must know how to fight our unseen enemies. This is our calling as God's people.

Main Idea: “God will give us victory against our unseen enemies.” (“Ang Diyos ang magbibigay sa atin ng tagumpay laban sa ating mga di-nakikitang kaaway.”)
How do we fight our unseen enemies?
Four Strategies
1. Be on the offensive for God's glory (vv.37-38,42).
2. Be strong through God's enablement (vv.39-41).
3. Be confident in God's deliverance (vv.43-45).
4. Be thankful to God always (vv.46-50).
