Well I have finally gone and done it, I have sound in A Class 52 !
So I sent my Blue Western to You Choos (www.YouChoos.co.uk) for John and Rich to fit the sound in the loco. Normally I would do this myself but surgery was required to the chassis to fit this in and I haven't got the facility to grind out some metal.
A Tramfabriek motor was also fitted (www.tramfabriek.nl) as the motor had long since done the Dapol curse and died.
So the sound of a Western finally echoes around the Somersex hills.
When I moved house the Blue Pullman suffered some slight damage to the buffers of one power car which I didn't notice straight away, but once you see it it nags at you. So I got onto BRLines or as it is also known Farish Spares up in the North East and found they had pairs of the Blue cab power car bodies. So it had to be and I now have a Blue Pullman as I remember going past my bedroom window in Hazel Grove as a very young child.
So who spotted the name change ?
The Western was originally Western Nobleman but it had a name plate and a number plate missing. So I took the opportunity to give the locomotive a more west country name. So Fox Transfers (www.fox-transfers.co.uk )supplied the new name plates and Western Nobleman became Western Buccaneer.
Thanks for watching, please stay safe and I will hopefully see you again soon.

All the tracks are now wired up and operational. An engine shed and signal box have been purchased for the steam locomotives and sidings/locomotives storage line.
The suggestion is that this area should be called "Jack Inner Box" and "Jack Inner Box Sidings" ! Not sure on this yet but they are the best so far and fits in with the rest of the layout quite nicely.
The points are going to be DCC operated in this new section because of the distance from the control panel and it will allow the operator to stand by and see what's happening if necessary.
I will be using the Peco Smart Switch system which I will report back on when fitted. I have two kits to get on with (8 servos) but more are needed. Hope Puffer Willie's has some more in stock !!!!!.
Hope you are finding this of interest.
I will post another update when I have made some more progress but for now it's run trains over the new lines to prove they are okay. So far so good, touch wood (touching my head quickly).
Until next time.

Hello and welcome back to Piddle In The Marsh. This weekend will see the trains packed away into special transport boxes and the layout split into four sections and the back scene removed as well.
Then next week the move is taking place to a bigger house a few miles down the road.
At the new house the layout will have its own train room with enough space for me to walk around with ease which will allow me to do a few changes I have been wanting to for a while.
So I decided rather than just move and say nothing for weeks on end I would share with you what is to happen and run a few trains which may well be for the last time in this location.
A big thank you for your continued support and when I do come back hopefully the layout will have survived the move.
Thanks for watching a goodbye for a while.

Class 52 Western first took to the rails in 1961 with D1000 Western Enterprise in Desert Sand livery. The Westerns were the biggest and most powerful of the Diesel Hydraulics with 2700 horsepower available.
There are 4 Class 52 on Piddle In The Marsh although currently 3 have motor issues. Hopefully all will be running soon.
