Sorry I abandoned you in 2023...
Do you ever feel like you abandon a language when you do not get to practice it as much as you would love to? Do you ever feel like giving up a language if you feel like you do not have enough time for it?

I wanted to be transparent and show you where I am at with "my weakest" languages: Italian, Russian and Swedish. I have not had as much time as I would love to for them and they have indeed suffered a bit in 2023... Should I give them up completely or what is my plan for them in 2024?
(This video was recorded at the end of 2023 and I thought I would post it earlier, that is why I keep saying things like "next year" referring to 2024)

Feel free to activate subtitles in English if needed and let me know if this has happened to you as well, I would love to get your perspective on this.

I have been using Duolingo and YouTube to learn Italian for a month and this is the result. I also used a dictionnary. This is a follow-up from Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIRYSK8CGSA&list=PL3-Ggx2VjC17CYLm2i4Hh1CPxwFP2HHpB Some things to consider: - Obviously I make a lot of mistakes - you can not learn a language in a month! - Italian being a romance language made it easier for me than it might be for other people (I speak Spanish, Catalan and French) - I am an experienced language learner with several years of practice. I am also a language teacher. This also makes it easier. The challenge continues and I will upload the next video in two months. I will still use Duolingo as often as possible and use YouTube to keep learning from teachers, but also from natives who create non-learning related content. I might also buy a book.
