Want to know why I don't play any musical instrument at all and always failed at music classes during secondary? This is the perfect showcase. Metal: Hellsinger is a rythm based shooter with good visuals, killer artists (Jinjer, SoaD, Dark Tranquillity, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy...), and great action... If you are good at rythm stuff of course. I must say that the brief moments where I was on the beat it felt great, but I just have to spend too much attention trying to keep the rythm or trying to get in sync, so probably this gameplay sucks balls :P Definetly recommended, but it's just not for me. ------------ Playthrough a ciegas sin comentar de la demo de Junio de 2002 de Metal: Hellsinger. No commentary playthrough of Vivisector: Beast Within, presented in 4K, played on normal difficulty if I remember correctly. Vivisector is a FPS developed by Action Forms (Chasm, Carnivores series) and released after a series of misadventures for Windows PCs in 2005-2006. This game was originally set to release in 2001-2002 as a Carnivores kind of spinoff starring Duke Nukem, called Endangered Species, where Duke would hunt rare monsters and mythical beasts. You can check it at: https://youtu.be/M5ZDYSnbAdE Had it come out as Endangered Species in 2002, the game would still have a chance thanks to its nice looking, sprawling open environments. But it took four years after the cancellation of the Duke game for this to come out. The game also features a nice dismemberment system where you blow off chunks of meat from the models with your shots. You're a soldier on a mission to a remote island, only to find the most dystopian of the scenarios, a race of genetically engineered half human/half animal species are leading a rebellion against their creator, the evil Dr. Morhead's. Vivisector is a B game with a dull start which turns into a pleasant ride once the regular animals are replaced by the mutant hybrid enemies. Este juego inicialmente iba a ser lanzado en 2001-2002 como una especie de spinoff de Carnivores protagonizada por Duke Nukem, llamado Endangered Species, donde Duke cazaría monstruos raros y bestias míticas. Eres un soldado en una misión a una isla remota, donde te encuentras un escenario de lo más distópico, una raza híbrida de hombres/animal diseñados genéticamente están levantados en rebelión contra su creador, el Dr. Morhead. Vivisector es un juego de categoría B con un comienzo soso que se torna en una experiencia agradable cuando los animales son reemplazados por los mutantes como enemigos. No commentary, mostly blind playthrough of Depth Dwellers. Played under DOSBox. Depth Dwellers is a "Doom Clone" (more like a Wolf3D clone) from 1994. The shareware version was featured on most magazine CDs of the era, so it was "common" Greetings to the people that mentioned that I should play it, I was aware of this game, it's just I didn't want... And boy was I right... Where do I start? Ok, the good stuff: the game ran fine, no crashes, competent engine, and ALLOWS YOU TO CIRCLE STRAFE (you couldn't count on this back in the day). Now for the bad: - If I seem to be lost during gameplay, it's because I am. The game uses one single texture for 90% of the current level - Which are maze like, and not the good way. Many copy pasted rooms, even between different levels - It's like they got the engine right and didn't care for the rest of the game, they just shoved everything in and called it a day - No art direction at all. You got random digitized stuff combined with MSPaint drawn characters - Many of the digitized stuff doesn't have the color pallette right - Weapons look like they are stuff you can find at home. Just wait for the massage machine - 4 different enemies total, of which only 2 can appear in a single level. One of them is a stealth variant of the very first - The grenade launcher is useless, as the mine deployer thing - The keys are small and can be overlooked. They knew this because most level seems to have a second key inside secrets - Some keys seem to be only found inside secrets - You can duck, but it's slow and useless. You can jump, and don't trust other reviewers who say it's also useless, they didn't play enough, there are hazards to be jumped over - The music... THE MUSIC. One single theme the whole game, and it's the most anodyne tune ever, no mood, no soul, no anything I've ever heard - The sounds... Those are the devs recording then with their mouth and modifying the pitch for different effects I'll stop or I will hit the 5000 characters limit for the description. --------------- Playthrough sin comentar, mayormente a ciegas de Depth Dwellers. Initially developed by Andrew Childs and Michelle Sleeper in 2002, it wasn't until Realms Deep 2020 when they revived the project under the new name Shotspark Studios. The game is now released and free to download. Along with Ion Fury, this is another showcase of what eDuke32 can do in the right hands. This time around it is a military shooter, but on the action side.
