New York City may not be the biggest city in the world but it’s in the top ten. There’s always more ways to raise your awareness and keep safe when visiting NYC, so here is some New York Street Knowledge.
1. Don’t Skip the Subway
You might have heard horror stories about the subway but you still shouldn’t skip the NYC subway system. It’s quick, cheap, and efficient. It’s also a quintessential part of visiting the coolest city in the world.
2. Don’t Walk Around Without Cash
A lot of small stores scattered throughout the city don’t accept credit cards. Since you might never know when you’ll desperately need a Snicker’s bar, it’s a good idea to carry a few small bills with you.
3. Don’t Stand Around Looking Up at Buildings
If you want to find one surefire way to paint a target on your back for pickpockets, then just stand around looking up at super famous buildings. To veteran criminals, it’s a dead giveaway that you’re not only a tourist, but you’re also not paying very much attention.
4. Don’t Forget to Pee When you Can
On the level, New York City doesn’t have a ton of accessible public toilets, so it’s best to take the opportunities wherever you can. If you're desperate, look for the nearest public library for a good, free restroom.
5. Don’t Tip Less than 20 Percent
New York is an expensive city to visit, but it’s even more costly to live in. Remember that and help out your local waitstaff by tipping at least 20 percent. Fifteen percent might be the norm elsewhere, but in NYC it’s considered gauche. (go-shh)

It’s important to know which of these destinations is truly worth visiting, and which can be missed. Thankfully, a legion of honest redditors have done their homework and reported in. Here, for your consideration, are some of reddit’s most hated destinations.
1. Singapore’s Sentosa Beach Is Like a Bad Sci-Fi Novel
magnora4: “Sentosa beach in Singapore. So messed up. It’s all fancy and hyper-developed and connected to one of the largest malls on earth (Vivo Mall), but you get to the beach via monorail and you get to the little sand that’s not built up in to stores… and then you look out to the ocean and all you see is oil tankers and factories spewing smoke on the horizon. It was like some sort of futuristic dystopia.”
2. Daytona Beach Is for Crab Lovers
danecdote: "Daytona Beach, Fl. Friends somehow convinced me to go a few years ago. Never again will I enter that city of my own free will. It looked like a diseased husk of its former tourist trap self; foreclosed and/or sh-tty buildings abound. There is literally nothing to do there, aside from going to the sh-tty, dilapidated beach and eating at Joe’s Crab Shack."
3. Belarus: For Travelers Who Want to Feel Like the Enemy Agent in a Foreign Land
“English guy here, Belarus. I’ve never felt so unwelcome. The police follow you everywhere, my Passport was being checked constantly. I just felt like I was being watched where ever I went.” The sentiment was echoed by several travelers.
4. Cairo Is a Hot, Chaotic Mess
Broes: "Egypt, Cairo, the pyramids … Was on my bucket list and really wanted to see it. The city is extremely dirty, garbage everywhere, the smell… Traffic is chaos. The pyramids could be seen from the pizzahut, so close its impossible to imagine them away from the city. At the pyramids themself you are constantly harassed by Egyptians trying to sell you stuff up to the point where you feel the need to start hitting them to get away from you. If you make a picture at the pyramids with an egyptian on it, they directly demand money. Left after just 15-20 minutes, couldn’t stand it any longer."
5. Only Go to Jamaica if You’re Ready to Tip Big
aussydog: Jamaica. "Most people are friendly but the vast majority expect exorbitant “tips” for doing next to nothing at all. If you denied them a tip they immediate treated you like sh-t. If you did tip a reasonable amount they treated you like sh-t. Often would look at the cash they were handed as if to say “that’s it?”"
6. Just Because Bogie Was Trapped in Casablanca Doesn’t Mean You Need to Be, As Well
Matthattan: "Casablanca. The least-interesting place in a fascinating country. Really, Casablanca is just a dumpy business district on the coast. Other than one obscenely expensive mosque that the previous

The world is full of beautiful things! things that have been formed over thousands of years, wind and water slowly sculpting a masterpiece for us to marvel at and enjoy! then along comes a big dumb tourist and ruins it for everyone! Here are 6 Amazing Natural Wonders DESTROYED by Idiot Tourists!
1. Islas Baleares, Spain
The island of Sa Porrassa, also known as Black lizard island is an uninhabited island in Majorca and a popular stop for tourists, that is until 2 teenage tourists from Scotland set it on fire. The two teenagers hired a pedalo to get to the island and one of them threw his cigarette butt into the scrubs. 1.5 hectares were burnt and two helicopters were needed to put out the blaze. The teenagers claimed it was an accident and no charges were pressed.
2. Goblin Valley, Utah
This valley features thousands of Hoodoos, which are mushroom-shaped rock formations that the locals call "Goblins". These "Goblins" are believed to be 170 million years old and although they had withstood the pass of time unfortunately they couldn't withstand the pass of 2 boy scout leaders who decided that the goblin was a health risk to the boy scouts and pushed it over.
These "scout leaders" were dismissed from the national boy scouts and received a sentence of one-year probation and a fine.
3. Raja Ampat, Indonesia
The Coral Reef at Raja Ampat is perhaps the richest in biodiversity, that was until the 90-meter cruise ship Caledonian Sky, fully equipped with GPS and Radar systems somehow ran aground in the reef at low-tide, to make matters worse, instead of waiting for high tide, a tug boat was sent out to drag the cruise ship off the reef, causing even greater damage.
An estimated 17,000sqft of the reef was destroyed. A team of academics and environmentalists estimated that the damage to Indonesia was in excess of $18 million and the reef would take decades to recover!
4. Duckbill Rock, Oregon
At Cape Kiwanda State National Park there used to be a peculiar hoodoo rock formation that was a popular tourist attraction because it looked like a duckbill. even though the area was fenced off many people would jump the fence to take photos or videos, as did this group of vandals, who despite having filmed their act of vandalism still haven't been caught. Even if they were caught and prosecuted they would probably only be fined $435 for "Vandalizing a park".
5. Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
9 miles long and up to 214 meters tall the cliffs of Moher are an impressive sight. The cliffs have appeared in numerous films, such as "The Princess Bride" and "Harry Potter" and attract around 1.5 million tourists a year. unfortunately, they also attracted the attention of a group of french "Artists" who decided to graffiti an 8 by 6-foot section of the cliffs. These "Artists" weren

On this week's episode, we look at the following comments-
On Things NOT TO DO in Cuba...
Tony Soprano says-
The Americans were not barred from going to Cuba by the Cubans.....the Americans stopped there own people......also I have ridden in many unlicensed taxis in Cuba.....they are good people.....just trying to make a living.....also I have never once seen pot or other drugs in Cuba.......just my rant
On Things NOT To Do in Singapore
Miyuki says-
I'm a Singaporean and this video is highly misleading. While some parts make sense, the rest of the video is flawed and full of false information.
1: You can chew gum anywhere, just don't spit-paste it on objects in public spaces.
2. you are not forced to do it and will probably not be fined if you choose not to/forget accidentally.
3. You can be naked at home if that's what you want, nobody cares.
5. This is entirely just bullsh--t.
9. No.
12. You can smoke in public, but not at places where there's the NO SMOKING sign (eg. bus stops)
15. No, you still can point, most people are very open-minded and do not think much of this gesture, but there are not many reasons for you to do this.

With its lush landscapes, Mayan ruins, and towering volcanoes, there aren't too many things not to love about Guatemala. But like most countries, there are some Things NOT To Do in Guatemala.
1. Don't Visit Guatemala City
According to the U.S. Department of State's travel notice, the city is rife with violent crimes against U.S. citizens and foreign travelers. The capital was once considered safe, but those days are long gone.
2. Don't Wear Flip Flops to the Mayan Ruins
Unless you want to lose your footing and sprain an ankle, leave the flip flops in your suitcase. The ancient Mayan Ruins are over a thousand years old, staircases may be unstable, and grassy areas uneven. So watch your step!
3. Don't Have Your Heart Set on Delicious Coffee
Guatemala may be known for producing some of the best brews you'll ever taste. Sadly, most of the coffee is exported, which means you won't be sipping a cup of Guatemalan joe during your stay.
4. Don't Travel at Night
It's a necessary precaution when traveling, especially in Guatemala. When night falls, the chances of becoming a victim of a crime are far greater.
5. Don't Take Photos of the Locals Without Permission
There are unsubstantiated rumors in Mayan communities that foreigners have the intent to steal their children and sell them abroad. A Japanese tourist was tragically killed by an angry mob of 500 villagers after he took pictures of indigenous women and children in a market.

Poo raining down from the sky! People getting their intestines sucked out! Or people getting pierced by an icicle made of urine! There are a lot of legends and myths about airplane lavatories, but what really happens when you poop on a plane?
1. Loud and fast.
When you flush a vacuum toilet it roars like it's firing your waste into outer space, but that noise is just the vacuum sucking the waste down through the pipework. The force is such, that the waste actually travels faster than a formula one car.
2. No Dumping.
Contrary to common belief an aircraft toilet doesn't evacuate waste into the sky, neither does the pilot have a button that allows them to dump this excess weight. The waste from the toilets travels through pipes to a rear storage tank that can only be accessed and cleaned from the outside of the plane by special waste disposal trucks designed for that purpose.
3. Vacuum loo.
Traditional siphon toilets can't be used on an airplane because they use too much water and the waste in the tank could come back out of the toilet when the plane descends, to solve this problem, James Kemper invented and patented the Vacuum toilet in 1975 to be used together with a blue disinfectant liquid known as Skykem.
4. Waste tank
Even though the vacuum toilet uses about seven times less water than a traditional toilet, a fully occupied 747 on a long-haul flight will produce around 1000 liters of wastewater. That's about as much as it takes to fill a 6 person jacuzzi, although thanks to the Skykem, it probably contains fewer bacteria.
5. Blue Ice.
There have been several cases of homes being hit by blue ice, this ice is caused by human waste and Skykem leaking out from the external valve, onto the undercarriage and freezing, then, as the plane descends to land this blue ice becomes loose and falls.
6. Intestine myth.
Even though airplane toilets used to have disclaimers about flushing whilst seated, there isn't really any danger involved in doing so.
Even an obese person can't actually create an airtight seal whilst sitting on the toilet because the toilet seat and the bowl have a gap between them. Even if you were to use the toilet without the seat by sitting directly on the bowl, the negative pressure caused by the vacuum wouldn't be enough to suck out your intestines.
7. Dirty
Now you no longer have to fear falling poop or getting your guts sucked out by a toilet you may feel better about flushing an airplane's toilet but you should still be cautious, the number of people using the same bathroom means that there are a huge amount of bacteria and germs in there. Use a paper towel to push the flush button and then wash your hands, dry your hands with another paper towel, and then use it to open the door before throwing it in the trash.
We hope you e
