In this video I decided to do some catfishing at night to see what the action was like, I was not disappointed! I had some fast and crazy action on the catfish after dark using bluegill as cut bait on a fish finder rig. Ended up catching a couple nice blue catfish and a gnarly looking flathead all in really shallow water!
If you’re liking these catfishing videos please like the video and comment below what you want to see next! I’m going to keep doing all types of fishing including some upcoming saltwater missions, but comments from anybody watching will help me figure out what people might want to see more of!

One of the guys over at Bellaire Jigs came up with a new design for their already great Sheep Sticker jigs and sent me some to try out. Putting them side-by-side I initially noticed some subtle differences like the jig head being flatter on the bottom and the grooves in the sides. Once I started fishing with them is when I noticed the real difference: the hook up ratio was vastly improved! I was catching 2 or 3 fish on consecutive drops while using fiddler crabs (which are notoriously easy for sheepshead to steal). This new jig design just makes sheepshead fishing easier!
A better hook up ratio means putting more fish in the boat and I will definitely be ordering more of this new design moving forward! Thank you all for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video.

After spending my last few trips targeting flounder and redfish, I decided to get back to my bread and butter and do some sheepshead fishing on this trip. I was finding sheepshead and redfish everywhere around docks and they were VERY hungry!

I decided to do something different today which I've never really done or made a video on before. I went out to a saltwater spillway and retention pond near my house I found using Google Maps and went exploring to see what lived there using live mullet, croaker and shrimp as bait. I was only there for about two hours and had one of my most memorable mornings of fishing of my life!
I was only fishing from the bank using carolina rigs and free line techniques, but I caught a couple giant fish including a (practically) new species to me! I've always wanted to catch a decent sized tarpon, but the Tarpon population in South Carolina isn't nearly as healthy as a state like Florida. But once I saw those silver giants rolling in this saltwater pond I knew I was going to catch one. One of the best fish fights of my life and I can't wait to hook another one.
I hope you guys enjoy the video and please let me know what you think down below. Thanks for watching!

Well this isn't exactly my usual video. I had the opportunity to go up to Ninilchik Alaska with my Dad for 3 days to fish for King Salmon and Halibut. This has been a dream fishing trip for pretty much my entire life, so the chance to do it with my Dad was something I had to make time for. After a long 15 hours of travel we arrived at the lodge we were staying at for the weekend around 11PM their time. It was still fully daylight out, although the sun had "set" almost an hour and a half ago. Thankfully Chris, our Captain with Discover Alaskan Adventures (linked below), didn't want to leave until 10AM the next day so we were well rested and ready to go. We ended up having a phenomenal first day and I scratched two big fish off my bucket list!
Fishing aside I really cannot say enough about how beautiful Alaska was. We would be driving and look off the side of the highway to scenery that looked like a postcard. We are already thinking about our next trip up there.
We ended up with a yield of 55lbs of filets between my Dad and myself after our first day while fishing in the "off season"! Stay tuned for day 2 and remember to make time for fishing!

I went out to the neighborhood pond in search of some big pre spawn spring time bass. The bait I fished all morning was a weightless, texas rigged finesse worm and they were munching! I caught 6 really big bass and a few small ones in a little under 2 hours and it was a blast! My rig was a medium light setup with 8lb test so I had to keep the drag loose and play the fish. It was hard but the payoff was great. Let me know what you think and please enjoy!

This was my first trip back out in the kayak after a busy couple of weeks so it felt great to get on a solid, big sheepshead bite even in the middle of the summertime heat. I was fishing docks as usual but I was finding fish in areas I don't often find them which was interesting and I think I learned quite a bit on this trip. The bait of choice was mud crabs on a sheep sticker jig as usual. I also had the opportunity to try out and give my honest review on the new KastKing Legend II 3000 series spinning reel. This video is NOT sponsored by KastKing, they just sent me the reel in hopes I would give my honest feedback.
After testing the reel out on a few big fish I can say it passes my initial stress tests and seems to be a solid budget reel at a very inexpensive $35 (currently). I like to think it will stand up to long-term abuse well for the money as other reels I've bought from KastKing in the past have been put through a lot and are all still kicking. However, only time will tell how it's going to hold up long-term but I will do my best to keep you guys posted if you're interested.
This was meant to be a comfortable trip for me to get my groove back and get the deck of my kayak a little slimey. Thank you all for watching and remember to make some time for fishing, I'll see you next time. Stay safe out there!

I drove right about 1,000 miles roundtrip to visit the Tampa area and while I was there I had a chance to meet up with local legend and pompano master, Thonny! He was my pompano guru and showed me the ropes on everything from what jigs to buy to how and where to fish them. We were fishing very late in the pompano season so we were swinging for the fences, hoping to find even one to take home for dinner. It was a fun day and was absolutely a grind but it paid off in the end. Thanks for the hospitality Thonny and I will for sure be back!

I can't believe how lucky I was to run into these animals, especially this time of year! I knew they occasionally made it up to Charleston in the Summer, but they're primarily spotted in Florida so seeing them here is always special. I ended up taking a 20 minute break from fishing to watch them "graze" before I resumed my trip. They must have been a good omen or something because as soon as they swam away the big sheeps started showing up!

OK well this video got pushed back in the queue quite a few times and was filmed over a month ago. So when I said towards the end it was my best day of redfishing in a long time that's why. On this trip I was out on Shem creek doing a little bit of freelining and I found a ton of good sheepshead and redfish stacked under this one dock. I didn't even have to go past the first dock to have a quick, action packed trip!
I hope you all enjoyed the video and thank you for watching!
