Egee relearns how to play Minecraft ep2 | Finding & Building a Shelter
Let's see if we can find a good spot to build a base from which to expand and explore from. It's Day 2 and things are going well so far but we really need a bed and a roof over our head.
Battlefield 3 has a pretty awesome Co-op vs AI mode and some of the missions are super fun.
To play with a friend, just queue up together at the same time. Battlelog squads haven't worked since Origin was taken down.
Played this on Debian Testing (Bookworm).

It's time for a new benchmarking video! I decided to revive the old Brunchmark name (and Github repo) because this video was a lot of fun to make and I definitely plan to do more like this.
0:00 Introduction
0:30 Creating a single instance from Vultr's web ui
1:40 Deploying all four test instances with Terraform
2:16 Setting up the Tests
2:38 Helsing: Vampire Number Generator
3:18 Primesieve: Prime Number Generator
3:58 Botan: SHA256 Hash Generation
4:36 Thoughts & Conclusion
5:41 Outro & Trying to play Sopwith while benchmarks are running
I only looked at CPU performance using 3 benchmark tests. This makes it easier to compare instance types AND VPS platforms in the future. Too much data can make graphs annoying and hard to read.
FEEDBACK REQUESTED!
I'm a systems engineer IRL so writing tests and gathering data is my jam. Presenting results is not, so PLEASE let me know if I was mistaken in any of the graphs or if you know a better way to display the data. I'm totally winging this stuff hahaha

Wayland has been in the works for years but do the Nvidia drivers play nice with it yet?
Short answer is No. However, RedHat and Nvidia are working together to fix that. Perhaps not in the way that certain members of the Linux community would prefer but still, collaboration is a good thing.
I tried out the Copr repo from the Nvidia folks on Fedora 26. That repo doesn't appear to support Fedora 27 yet, which is a bit odd, however it is probably meant to be a proof of concept anyway.
What's interesting about this whole mess is that the KDE developers have absolutely no intention of having Nvidia work with Kwin as a Wayland compositor.
If Gnome implements Nvidia's egl-stream method for Wayland compatibility, there may be a giant fracture in which DE's support Nvidia, and which ones don't.

Attempting to theme and configure the Budgie desktop just the way I like it.
Part 1 of this video is here - https://youtu.be/PF6SQa_r9l8
Last time I looked at Budgie I had issues with a few things that weren't Budgie's fault at all. Certain things, like right-click being broken, are still an issue but I figured a couple things out:
- The issue with Raven was the theme I was using
- The issue with search not finding Flatpaks was because of my default shell (fish)
I'm still not a fan of how tightly-coupled Budgie is to Gnome. For example, on KDE or Mate, I could stretch the desktop wallpaper to fit the monitor but since Budgie uses Gnome's settings, there's not an easy built-in way to do that.
Sorry about the lack of timestamps - this video is kinda all over the place and the timestamps I had didn't make much sense. Oh well!

Nitrux is (currently) an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution and works without a traditional installation. Instead, Nitux "deploys" as a whole resides in a single file and directory.
Nitrix is more-or-less a desktop Linux distribution pre-configured with decent defaults and a bunch of cool custom applications.
Nitrux focuses on the use of the AppImage format as the primary method of software distribution which makes sense due to how the distro is "Deployed" rather than "Installed".
