Juno (JUpiter Near-polar Orbiter) in Kerbal Space Program
Recreating the route Juno took to Jupiter using Kerbal Space Program with realism overhaul. Juno is a mission which is specifically focussed on the planet Jupiter making 30 close passes over the giant planet's surface analysing the atmosphere.
It's not an accurate version since I guestimated the launch window and ended up having to make some big corrections using infinite fuel to make up for the errors. The Model had to be edited in after earth departure to make something that looked correct. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXbWHaQB2qw
There's a lot to be said, about the first words said on the moon.... rather than triumphant declarations, the first words were technical language related to flying the LEM.

Planet Nomads was kickstarted successfully earlier this year, the Alpha creative mode is now in the hands of early backers and I wanted to take a look.

Mars 2020 AKA Perseverance arrived safely on Mars on Thursday afternoon and is in the process of transitioning to surface operations, preparing for years of exploration of Jezero crater - an ancient lake on Mars.
As of right now we're waiting for thousands of images to be downlinked from the descent and landing while the rover updates its software and deploys its instruments.
We're hoping for have some more substantial data on Monday.

Due to scheduling difficulties this is more than a week late, and there's a lot of news to share. With limited bandwidth we only got a few images from the moon so far, and Japan managed to bring its lander back to life after a night on the lunar surface.
India selects their astronauts for their first human space flight.
Varda shares and amazing video of their capsule reentry and SpaceX continue to set new records.

After the mysterious accident during the orbit trim maneuver we have no option but to make a swift touchdown on Duna to preserve the integrity of the mission. However, it turns out the updating mods in the middle of a series can lead to plans (and planes) that no longer work as expected.....
Here's the modlist, but I expect people will still ask me nevertheless

There's a lot of stories about asteroid 16 Psyche being worth ridiculous amounts of money based on its mineral content. And the truth is that yes it probably has more accessible gold than most places in the solar system, it's still an inaccessible rock in the middle of the asteroid belt.
But it's still a fascinating rock in the middle of the asteroid belt.

Using the amazing Orbiter 2016 spaceflight simulator I decide to attempt a Return To Launch Site abort using the Space Shuttle - Without the aid of manuals or checklists. The RTLS Abort mode was never actually performed with a real launch stack, John Young famously said “RTLS requires continuous miracles interspersed with acts of God to be successful.”.
Instead I'm going to trust to thousands of hours of simulated spaceflight experience and see how close I get....
Watch video before reading on....
I turned around too early, leaving me with too much energy to hit the runway on the first pass, and turning left me without the energy to arrive at the landing strip without using the OMS to give me a little push.
However, part of RTLS that I managed to forget it that during the powered abort the OMS is supposed to be fired to deplete fuel and push the center of mass on the orbiter forward. I didn't know how to do this in Orbiter. The plan did leave some margin for OMS fuel, but It's not really clear whether it would be viable to fire the OMS in the way I did to help reach the landing strip.
So, yeah this is a sloppy terrible flight, now I should figure out how to simulate this properly with Orbiter mods and try again.
