Liner Installation Tip For Getting Rid Of Wrinkles
From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/liner-installation.html - Learn about installing a vinyl liner in a swimming pool and why you may be encountering wrinkles. Liner installation requires a strong vacuum running to hold the liner in place until the water level is high enough to turn off and remove the liner vacuum. If the liner seems to fit but you can't get the wrinkles out the first step is to make sure you have a good vacuum seal. You want a strong vacuum so that you can manually position the liner and then the vacuum holds it right where you put it. #swimmingpoolsteve #vinylliner #diy ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de6aPlqFrIw
From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/builder-delays.html - How long it takes to build a swimming pool has many variables, such as the type of pool being built, so every project will be different with the amount of time it will take. This video give you a general idea of how long building a pool would take to complete for the different types of pools, for example an above ground or an inground vinyl liner pool. Above ground pools are probably the easiest and quickest to install and typically take a couple days to complete. Inground vinyl liner pools as well as fiberglass pools will often take two to three weeks to build, barring any weather delays or any delays of another kind (equipment or shipping delays, etc.). Building an inground concrete or gunite pool is usually the longest of pool builds, often taking a minimum of two months since there are stages that require more time such as waiting for concrete to cure before the next stage can begin.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/filter-pressure.html this video talks about what to do when your pool filter pressure is too high. First, the system can operate anywhere from zero to 30 PSI safely. Every pool has a unique number for your "normal" filter pressure. Generally, your normal filter pressure, or "clean operating pressure" as we call it, is the baseline for determining when to clean your filter. When your filter pressure rises 7 PSI above your clean operational pressure then it is time to clean your filter media. This should resolve high pressure and reset you to the clean operational pressure again.
Sand filter tip - Run the filter in recirculate mode which bypasses the filter media. If the filter media is the problem, the filter pressure will reduce a lot when you run in recirculate. If this does not improve the filter pressure, then the problem is not with the filter media.
Cartridge filter tip - When you clean a cartridge filter you must soak in a degreaser to remove the oils which are saturating the paper. It is not usually the physical debris that causes problems with high pressure, but the paper becoming saturated with sweat, oils, makeup, sun tan lotions etc. and a degreaser is needed to break this up. If you only rinse your filter without a degreaser soak, your filter pressure will continue to be high. Also, ever use a pressure washer to rinse paper filters. This drives the debris deep into the paper and will ruin your filters.
Faulty pressure gauges cause a lot of problems with high filter pressure. Test yours by removing it from the system. It should reset to 0 PSI when removed. If it says any number other than zero then it is garbage and can not be repaired. Replace with a new one.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/bd-review.html - With Hayward, Pentair and Jandy (Fluidra) dominating the swimming pool equipment supply industry it is definitely a notable event when a new brand comes to market with a competing product. In this case Black + Decker, through Blue Torrent, has a new line of variable speed pool pumps for sale this year. These pumps are very competitively priced and come with a longer than standard warranty period. With variable speed pumps in general, being such a hot topic right now due to their energy (and cost) savings benefits as well as shortages in equipment from the major brands, Black + Decker is poised to take some serious market share this year. These pumps are available in 1.5, 2 and 3 horsepower models (as well as a 1hp above ground pool model) and they are available through online retailers.
Something that Black + Decker did right with their new line of pumps is that they made them compatible with the most popular existing line of pool pumps which are the Hayward Super Pumps and Pentair Superflo pumps. This means that the Black + Decker pump fits into the same plumbing configuration. Black + Decker also included unions for both 1.5" and 2" pipe connections which is very convenient. Finally and most importantly, the three inground pool models of Black + Decker pumps come with 5 years of warranty coverage which is longer than the vast majority of pumps sold by Pentair, Hayward and Jandy.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/filter-pressure.html - Learn how the indicator arms on your filter pressure gauge work and what they indicate. The green indicator arm is set to the clean operational pressure of your swimming pool filter. When the filter pressure reaches the red indicator arm, it is time to clean your filter elements. If you have a sand filter, it is time to backwash.

http://www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com - If you have wrinkles underneath the return faceplates of your vinyl liner pool this is an indication that the liner has shifted. Usually this would be a result of water underneath of the liner, either from a leak or from a high water table. Wrinkles under the return fittings is also commonly caused by draining the pool too much. Vinyl pools should never be drained and you should ALWAYS leave a minimum of 12" in the shallow end. If you drain the pool further than this the weight of the water in the deep end will pull the liner away from the shallow end and cause it to stretch around the return fittings. If you have this problem there is no way to fix it other than to replace the liner.
If you would like more information on how a vinyl liner is measured and installed you can read the detailed tutorial from Steve here: http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/liner-installation.html

From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/pools4.html - Learn why sand could be on the bottom of your swimming pool. Sand filters can fail and interior components can break which could cause sand to be pushed by the pump out of the return jets into your pool, settling on the pool floor. There is a type of algae that looks like sand but when you step on it, it disappears. Sand does not disappear when stepped on and that is how you can tell the difference. If it is a line of sand below your return port you have a broken lateral in your filter assembly.
