September 8 2021 Bronx, New York - Earlier this evening a group of about 75 protesters and family of shooting victim Mikey Rosado marched through the Bronx to NYPD’s 46th Precinct in Rosado’s memory. Mikey was shot by off duty police in the Bronx on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Protestors marched through the neighborhood streets chanting “Fuck the police” upon reaching the station they began announcing the names of officers with pending allegations of misconduct who work at the 46th precinct. Mikey Rosado’s Wife pleaded loudly with the wall of officers in front of the station and the ones looking down at her from the top of the 46th precinct roof, to release the names of the off duty officers involved in the shooting of Mikey. Protestors and family vowed to continue showing up to the precinct until justice for Mikey is served. July 21 2022 Bronx, New York – 18-year-old Raymond Chaluisant, who was shooting water pellet gun, was shot and killed by a Corrections Officer in NYC, according to police. NYC correction officer, 45-year-old Dion Middleton, has now been arrested and charged with Murder, Manslaughter, Criminal Possession of a weapon, according to official NYPD press release. Police say 18-year-old victim was shooting a toy water pellet gun from inside the car in the Bronx early Thursday , when allegedly Correction Officer shot back. Police said that Chaluisant was using “Orbeez” gun. Product website describes their toy guns as “Your new Orbeez gun will allow you to enjoy hours of outdoor fun with friends and family. The Orbeez gun shoots gel balls that range from 6 to 8 mm in size. These Orbeez are non-toxic and safe for play.” Police originally responded to a report of person shot around 1:30am at north west corner of the Grand Concourse and East Tremont, where they found an 18-year-old victim, unconscious and unresponsive, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to Daily News and the NYPD, police said they discovered she’ll casings at the scene, later determining that victim was actually shot half a mile away from the original scene. As police say they investigated further, the original incident location was determined to be on the south east corner of the Cross Bronx Expressway & Morris Avenue, officials said.
