-- Various clips from Japanese television, most circa 1978-1983 when I lived there. Most are scenes from American movies dubbed in Japanese. Most of these dubs are different from those found on physical media. Other videos feature the commentaries that often came before those films as well as commercials that were in the initial telecasts.
I used to have a large collection of Japanese music programs and suspense thriller movies of the week. These have been removed for now because of copyright issues.

It was originally formed as a repository of content created for the California Community College Chancellor's Office Department of Economic and Workforce Development Doing What Matters Initiative. Running from 2013-2018, numerous events and assets were created to enhance anyone interested in entertainment as a career to find the best career pathways in. In order to support that effort, a series of videos were created that dealt with "below-the-line" or "crafts" positions, which are often not taught in regular curriculum.
The program further expanded to include digital assets that might be amusing to general students. Dan Watanabe, founder of this channel, was a grant director.

The Post-World War II era redefined the very language of film. While traditional films were (and continue today to be) made, there was an exuberant outburst of new styles that were different in specific details, but strived to engage audiences on a more interactive level. In France, this took the form of the new wave, led by former critics turned director. Some, like Francois Truffaut, remained humanist in their overall message. Others, like Jean Luc Godard, wanted their message to be exclusively political. In England, this took the form of "kitchen sink" realism with directors like Lindsay Anderson and Tony Richardson. Meanwhile, traditional genres in both countries became more explicit both in sexuality and violence.

To read the publicity, A24 as an independent film company has it all... award winning films; great box office returns; an opportunity to break new artists... But, yet, Variety suddenly published not one but TWO "exclusives" on movements the company is making. Whenever a company says, "it has been exploring a sale," it is usually a safe assumption to make that they HAVE to make a sale. Ditto for saying they are cutting short the theatrical release window so a title will be available for streaming in an unusually short amount of time. This can mean that either the movie did not test well or the revenues are needed NOW. Is this what is happening with A24?
