Moving The Cows And Checking On How The Cows Are Performing
In this video Emily is moving the cows across the end of one of the hayfields. The cows will now be on the south half of the property. The new grazing area will have fairly good tree cover which is nice for the hot summer months. Emily also gives a heard tour and update as she walks through the cows.
In this video we give you the 2 week update on the broiler chicks. You’ll notice that their feathers have really started to come in and their combs are starting to form. My wife corrected me and there is actually 6 loses total now. I’m pretty happy the birds only have a week tell they move out to the chicken tractors.
In this video you can see I've got a black eye. I received that while drilling out drain holes in a large steel salt trough. we also give a bit of a farm update and Bill falls asleep shortly after I stop recording.
This is the second calf to go into the creek, but we have a solution. We will post it in the next video. So far this little guy is doing great and is nursing. We’ll register him and hopefully show him. I will film us halter training the calf and his growth along the way.
In this video we get to deal with the first real snowfall of the year. I’m also getting better at unclipping reels from posts one handed. Also Bill falls asleep on the job.
The baby turkey poults have arrived! The are a day old at this point and quite ignorant on how to survive. So I’ve had to teach them how to drink and eat. I really enjoy raising turkeys because of their awesome personalities. They actually enjoy being around people.
We finally moved the turkeys to the chicken tractors. We’ll need to build another tractor for the second batch of chickens when they are ready to go on pasture.
