Translator Notes:
Magmatron has a line where he says to Big Convoy, tsuka yōsai hoshide wa sewa ni natta na (いつか要塞星では世話になったな) or literally, “You took care of me so well back in time at the fortress planet...” The line delivered is supposed to carry a sarcastic undertone to what he’s saying, making reference that Big Convoy didn’t do a good job at trying to eliminate him. We’ve trying to relay that across by using italics on the “so well” part of the sentence.

Translator Notes:
Scylla uses a different way to address herself by saying atai (あたい) meaning I. In Kagoshima, atai is regional variant for atashi, meaning I as well. Historically, this was used by women in certain red light districts, but it later spread out and was eventually picked up by those wanting to cultivate a "bad girl" image. Characters who use this pronoun are implied to be lower-class, uneducated, and flippant.

Translator Notes:
Thrust uses a common expression used by when people drop by the house unannounced in Japan by saying, Chōdo kono atari ni kitto tan yo (丁度この辺りに来っとたんよ.) Literally this is “We were in the neighborhood, so we thought we’d drop by.”
Gimlet explains to Thrust and Dirge that "We are so close and we go everywhere together and we even go pee together, Santa Maria!" Santa Maria is St. Maria, Mother of God. Another reference that the Jointrons themselves have Catholic ties.
The Jointrons are based off of Mexicans who possibly come from low-income living standards. You’ll notice in episode 15 that the decorations that the Jointrons put up in the base (the little flags etc), is common for low-income citizens in Mexico to decorate their town or houses with. Obviously we’re not bashing low-income Mexican citizens, but merely stating this is where the idea comes from. As well, Mexican people love to dance and play their music out in the open such as the Jointrons are doing.
