I this video I will show you the of the best ways to trench for rotor heads. When you are installing rotor sprinkler heads, it is a good idea to move the trench over about a foot or so instead of trenching right on the sidewalk or curb. This will help to eliminate over spray and runoff. In smaller areas it is a good run the trench right on the side walk but it works better in bigger areas like this to move it over.
In this video I share with you one key step that you want to make sure you do when you are solvent welding pvc pipe. That step is to make sure you clean off all the dirt on the pipe and in the bell end before you put any primer or weld on the pipe. This will help you get good penetration with the primer and good contact with the solvent weld. If you don't get all the dirt off you will not get a good welded joint and plus when you get dirt all in the dobber and then you transfer in into the weld and primer cans and then onto the next joint. Its just the best practice to clean it all off first.

In this video you will see how I use teflon tape when putting together sprinkler system fittings. The biggest tip I believe is to wrap the teflon on clockwise. That way when you thread the fittings together, the teflon won't unwrap. I like to go around 5 times. The other big tip is to be very careful not to over tighten the fitting. Over tightening will cause to fittings to crack.

There are a few keys tips to pay attention to when installing a Hunter HC Flow Meter. Flow meters are good to have on an irrigation system to know how much water is flowing trough the system. This Hunter HC flow meter is great. It has physical numbers you can read making it better to get exact flow readings versus a flow sensor. This hunter flow meter can be hooked up to Hunter Hydrawise smart controllers. Installation is easy, especially when following these key tips in this video.

Having the wrong spray nozzles in your irrigation system can be a problem, you may end up with dry spots or dead grass, or you could be waisting a lot of water, that is why it is very important to choose the right spray nozzle for your sprinkler system. The easiest way to figure out what size nozzle to use, is to step the area off and see how wide it is and then step off between the heads to see how far apart they are. In this yard I was working at, the area was four feet wide and it was fifteen feet to the next head. So I needed a nozzle that would spray four feet wide and fifteen feet long and it was at the very end so I needed it to only spray out of one side. So a Rainbird 15 EST end strip was going to work perfect. Also, you want to be very careful changing to a nozzle that the zone or system was not designed or installed to use. This could change the pressure loss and cause the sprinkler system to not work properly. Sometimes it is best to call a licensed professional and let them go through the system and put the right stuff in to make sure everything is working the way it is supposed to work.

The best way to install wire for a sprinkler system is to run the wire under the pipes. It always a good practice to run the wire first, then the pipes. That way the wire is on the bottom of the trench where it is most protected from getting cut.

Need to fix a broken sprinkler head and you don't want to dig? Well in this video I will show how you can fix a broken sprinkler head without having to dig it up.
✅ SUBSCRIBE HERE : https://www.youtube.com/c/americanirrigator?sub_confirmation=1
This technique of a broken sprinkler head repair without digging up the head is great to know and will save you time and from having to get too dirty. This will not work in all cases, so unfortunately, you will need to dig most of the time. But when you have a situation like this one, you can simply change out the guts of the head and put a new nozzle in and you are good to go. The one big tip when repairing a broken sprinkler head this way is, stick with the same manufacture of head. If it is a Hunter pro spray then buy a new Hunter pro spray and switch out the parts form the new head to the one in the ground. If it is a Rain Bird head, then use Rain Bird parts. Toro, use Toro. Wearthermatic. K-Rain. What ever brand it is, just use the same brand going back in with good parts.
