The top display has significant screen burn, and when obtained about 6 years ago was not working at all due to the flyback being cracked in half and several other components failed. Some of the internal wiring had been pulled out a couple of the wiring connectors were missing. The entire thing was also coated with a vile mixture of nicotine and black greasy dirt, inside and out.
Small metal junction box with the remains of lead covered single core wiring attached.
The inner conductor is tinned copper, rubber insulated with cloth covering, and lead on the outside.

An example of PVC insulated cable which has been in contact with expanded polystyrene cavity wall insulation.
There are two problems here - first being that the cable insulation is damaged when in contact with the expanded polystyrene, the second is the current capacity of the cable is significantly reduced when installed in insulation, which could result in the cable overheating.

Travel adaptor so that plugs from elsewhere can be used in the UK.
It's all bad - no fuse, pins too close to the edge, earth pin is sleeved, pins are too small, pins are plated metal (aluminium?), no shutters on socket holes.
Internally, the contacts are made from pressed steel, and the only connection between the contacts and the plug pins relies on the back of a screw head pressing onto a small tab of metal.
The pin screws are also steel - a metal which has far worse conductivity than copper or brass.
Previous adaptor: http://youtu.be/jUu8a6MP0iI - this is similar but had bare pins and could not be opened without destruction.

Wiring for a PIR, microwave or photocell with an override facility, so that the lights can be off, automatically controlled or permanently on. Two different methods, using two switches or a single centre-off switch.
These methods result in a single cable at the light, and a single cable at the sensor, for easier installation with fittings that have very little space inside.
