But what was leaked is apparently more than JUST a demo! o Hacked PS4s were able to download the unlisted demo from the PlayStation network, and those hackers are now able to play the demo of the mako reactor, which we’ve seen a lot of already. o However this demo has been data-mined now, revealing a LOT of spoilery information we’re not going to talk about today. o Moral of the story is stay off the Internet to avoid spoilers because those are going to be everywhere now. o Hopefully though we’ll get to see that FF7R demo sooner than later in a more official capacity. • Dragon Quest XII is confirmed in development o Because duh, of course it is. o Yuji Horii says that it is “still a little while ahead” o Here is his statement in full: • I was hoping to see something else about the new Dragon Quest Joker game but guess we’ll get more news eventually. Speaking of which: • SMT V creators say “I’m not dead yet” o In a response to a tweet from Atlus, the Megaten Twitter page responded to “Please look forward to Follow-up news on SMT V” o It’s not much to go on, but hey, it’s more than we’ve gotten since the game was announced, so let’s see what happens. Release Date Updates: • Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls release date updated • Originally launched on PS3 in 2011, the PC remaster has been in the works o Originally planned to release last year but was halted at the last minute due to licensing issues o Those appear to have been resolved, and the game is scheduled for release on PC and Steam and Humble store on January 15th. The game will be $15 and 10% off during its launch week Other News • Sad news tweet for Xenosaga fans just before Christmas o According to Katsuhiro Harada, Xenosaga remasters were considered o Made it as far as the planning stages but o Unfortunately the games failed in a profitable market analysis o Harada stated that this will make the project more difficult to resurface. • 2019 Ni No Kuni movie is coming to Netflix on January 16th o Released in Japan on August 23rd 2019 o The movie doesn’t appear to be directly related to any of the games o Directed by Yoshiyuko Momose, animator of Studio Ghibli fame o Has received mixed reviews overall, but if you like NNK it may be worth a shot Community News: • For Community news, this one’s a bit of an oddity: o Once upon a time, Shigesato Itoi, writer of Earthbound stated that the next Mother game would be made by its fans. Whether this was a metaphor or not, these words inspired a fandom o Mother 4 was a passion project started by fans inspired by this statement. o After several years of development as Mother 4 they have rebranded to “Oddity” for probably a myriad of reasons. o This was probably a great move to avoid a Cease and Desist letter from Nintendo o After rebranding, they released a new trailer for Oddity, and it looks absolutely stunning:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CBwIXnbUuY o The game takes place in the 70s and follows a 13 year old boy who weilds a pellet gun and baseball bat o According to the trailer the game will launch: “When it’s ready.” SuperDerek News: • Since there wasn’t much news last week I decided to make a Top-5 Moments in the Game Collection video, hope you guys liked it! • Also on SuperDerekStreams we finished up Super Mario RPG. The review is in production and should be out before terribly long. • In the meantime we started a playthrough of Secret of Evermore, and acre pretty close to wrapping that up too! • Saturday Night on Twitch we continued our run of the Jukebox Hero Challenge, which is a special biweekly stream where I play 3 classic RPGs on rotation, when the audience gets to change the game on me at will.
