I hi the back tick key and write the Chapter title. When I export I ensure I export a test track with the chapters along with the video. Next job is to open the file in Subler and get the text exported out to a file. Open the file in BBEdit and then the automation magic happens. I made a Keyboard Maestro macro which runs in BBEdit and removes the cruft that I don't want in the Chapter markers so I end up with a text on the clipboard ready to paste into YouTube. Delete previous videos we were looking about how to get the photographs into Aperture and how to put keywords on them and in this video we are looking at what we can do with the photos once we have them in the application. There are a number of keyboard shortcuts as allow you to view your photos in different ways. If you use the V on the keyboard you can cycle through the three main views in Aperture. You can see all of the photos in the new window, the other view is when you can see a selective photo in the viewer and see the browser in a separate part and then it is possible also to turn off the browser and just have one single photograph on view in the viewer. With using a couple of keyboard shortcuts you can set with you can see the keywords and other basic metadata information. This can be useful when you don't want to have the Inspector viewable in the left sidebar. In Aperture there are a few different ways of doing things, at the bottom of the viewer window there is a button which allows you to choose some of the options, there are the keyboard shortcuts and finally you also have access to the same settings in the menus. One of the things that you might like to do is to compare one photo with others in the set of photos that you are working within the project. This is useful when you have a number of photos that are quite similar and you want to make sure that you pick the best of the bunch. There is a setting which will allow you to have two photos in the viewer window, one of them is set as the comparison photo and you scroll through or choose the others as alternatives. It is well worth learning the keyboard shortcuts to set this up and also to help you choose whether you are going to go with the comparison photo or the alternative options. ## Please subscribe to make sure you hear about all the How To videos. Drop zones are really handy so that you can set up a part of your movie with multiple clips once and then save yourself time with not having to resizing and moving clips into place each time. Use Motion 5 to create the template so that in Final Cut Pro X you can select a drop zone and then select the clip to put in it. It would be easy to forget one or two pieces of the process as you go about putting it all together. I think it’s a good idea to have a list of all that needs to be done and to use it. In this video, I show you how to use Shortcuts, the app from Apple to automate making your list in Reminders. It would also be possible to change this shortcut to send the list into something else like Omnifocus, things or one of the other GTD applications. I like using this method of making the list because it allows me to choose which of my blogs I am working with. It lets me decide if I’m going to do the full Monty which includes audio and video. All I can just create a blog post using just text, text with audio or text with video. I also used a menu to give me a set of four choices and the shortcut builds it all from there. I needed to add a couple of dates. I needed the date for today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and for one week. This allowed me to set the reminders with a due date. It’s possible then to look into reminders and see what is scheduled. This way you can plan out your day or even your week. It’s satisfying to have a list of tasks to be completed and to see the list becoming smaller as you get the job done. The first part of this shortcut puts together the list regarding the creation of the perfect blog post. The second part of the list adds three more reminders to cover extra social network posts to tell the world about your blog post. You can follow this recipe for making a similar, more personalised version of the shortcut. Or you can download the pre-made shortcut to your iOS device, make minimal changes to fit your purpose. If you don’t want to use an automated way of creating your list of tasks you can also use something like Drafts and use a simple list syntax. This gives you a very simple list to work with and no dates. There is also the notes application which you can create a list, but again you don’t get any due dates. The good thing about using this automated list creation as you see in this video is that it is free. You can download the Shortcuts app for free and reminders is already installed on your system.
