The Moranbong Band's "Dash to the Future" music video as broadcast on KCTV on 30.08.2020. -This video is for educational purposes and does not reflect the channel's opinions on anything - Moranbong Band was established in 2012 by the government of the DPRK as part of an effort to create entertainment that would appeal to the country's youth and middle classes. The song "Dash to the Future" was released shortly after Kim Jong Un rose to power and became one of the group's most popular cult hits outside of the isolated nation. I ran across this version of the song while attempting to record a TV sign-off. There don't seem to be any other "official" music videos for Moranbong Band songs, so this is probably the closest thing to a music video that the country has produced. To further share the bizarre experience of watching North Korean television, I've left in the programming immediately before and after the video. The first features "wise quotes" attributed to Kim Jong Un himself while the second is the opening monologue for a show called "Our Path" (I'm not sure what the Trotskyist Socialist Worker's Party would think of their image being used to push Juche propaganda, but I can't imagine they'd be too pleased by that...) I've translated the full video to aid English-speaking viewers (thanks to reginakyi on Fiverr for assisting).
