Kitty Hawk Flyer Revealed
-founded in 2015
-all electric, ultralight aircraft
-they claim it’s “safe tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the Ultralight category of FAA regulations”
-The Kitty Hawk flyer is designed to be flown over uncongested fresh water areas. Landing this thing on the ocean is probably not a good idea.
-With that said it’s not designed to be flown over land but you can bet 3 days after release there will be video of people flying this thing everywhere, including over land.
-price is coming later this year along with it’s release
-The flyer in this video is the prototype, the final design will look different and hopefully more aesthetic
-The flyer is only available to be purchased in the United States, they’ll sell you one if you live abroad but you have to deal with shipping it outside the States yourself as they don't’ want to get into the legalities of a human flying drone elsewhere
-This makes sense as I’m sure it was a big issue getting this vehicle to be legal to be operated in the states alone, the undertaking of doing this worldwide would be a time consuming and expensive

7.Grappling Hook
The grappling hook or boarding hook was a weapon of pirate times that was used to attach one ship to other, usually a crippled ship, bringing it in to be boarded. The most common design had a single metal shaft with 3 or 4 equally spaced hooks at the top and an eye at the bottom which was where the roped was tied. Ships were either crippled first by cannon shots then boarded and raided before it sunk or no crippled and taken over and added to the fleet. Crippled ships had food, cargo, inventions, machines, weapons and battle plans raided before the vessel would go underwater, this was only made possible by the grappling hook. Prior to the grappling hook men would try to board a ship from a small row boat. These pirates were picked off quite easily as they tried to climb the ship. Once the hook was invented and ships were brought together the ship with more heavily armed fighters would almost always win the battle which was usually pirates.
6.Stinkpot
The stink pot was a clever invention that was essentially a round container with chemicals in it. Once it was set on fire it would create a cloud of horrendous smelling odours. The idea was very simple once two ships were close enough light the stink pot on fire and throw it at the enemy ship like a grenade. The smell would cause its victims to panic, flee and vomit. This simple invention made for easy ship boarding by pirates.
5.Firearms
Whether it's a blunderbuss or a musket, firearms were a popular weapon among pirates.
The blunderbuss is a shotgun used at short range. It scattered lead balls in a wide arc, not a weapon of accuracy but more of a spray and pray type gun. The musket on the other hand was used to take out pirates boarding ships from a distance. It is one the earliest forms of the sniper rifle. Pirate captains like Blackbeard often has small pistols they kept hidden for dire situations.

Why is the cucumber roll called Kappa?
Have you ever wondered why a cucumber roll at a Japanese or Sushi restaurant is called a kappa roll? Most people assume kappa is the Japanese word for cucumber but this isn’t the case. Kyuri is the Japanese word for cucumber and on this episode we’ll take a look at the origins of the kappa roll.
First off for those of you who haven’t been to a sushi restaurant or have never had a kappa roll or kappa maki, it’s the most basic, and quite honestly least desired roll at a Japanese restaurant. It’s only served as a means to clear the palate so the distinct flavors of the sushi or raw fish can be tasted clearly. It’s simply rice and cucumber wrapped with seaweed. Believe it or not the kappa roll goes all the way back to Japanese mythology and folklore. A kappa or kawataro is a yokai demon or water imp found in traditional Japanese folklore. These hideous creatures are depicted having long hair with a bald patch on top that is filled with a pool of water. They are almost portrayed as reptilian sporting a turtle shell and are seen as mischievous troublemakers or tricksters. So how does this all relate to a cucumber sushi roll?
The kappa’s favorite traditional meal is cucumber. Their love for this vegetable is so strong it’s written in Japanese folklore that they will sometimes befriend humans if presented cucumbers. It’s said they enjoy cucumber so much that it’s the only food they enjoy more than human children. The kappa is an aquatic creature that would be lured by throwing cucumbers into the water. Once a kappa chowed down on this tasty green vegetable they could be coerced into doing things for a human like helping farmers irrigate their land or bring in fresh fish. Because of the unrivaled dedication to this vegetable, the cucumber maki or cucumber roll was named after the water imp or kappa. Now this might seem ridiculous and well quite frankly it is but that’s Japanese folklore. What we’ve covered here on the kappa doesn’t even scratch the surface of how weird it gets. Apparently they are obsessed with butts, human butts, love to sumo wrestle and are excellent at farting.

5 – San Marino - 61 km²
San Marino is a tiny country 61 square kilometers in size that is completely surrounded by Italy. It has a population of 32,000 people, one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe, no national debt and more cars than people. It’s located two and half hours drive south of Venice near the coast of the Adriatic Sea. San Marino claims to be the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world. 4 – Tuvalu - 26 km²
Tuvalu formerly know as Ellice Islands is located between Hawaii and Australia. It’s total land mass is 26 kilometers squared, when viewed from above is essentially the ring of a large underwater land mass that hasn’t quite breached the surface yet. Tuvalu has a population of 10,650 people which come from Polynesian descent. Most of the people live in Funafuti and the surrounding connected land to it. The traditional foods eaten in Tuvalu are pulaka, bananas, breadfruit, taro, coconut and seafood. Locals often catch flying fish on a boat with a spotlight and a butterfly net.
3 – Nauru - 21 km²
Nauru is a tiny island off the coast of Australia being only 21 square kilometers in size. It is the smallest island nation in the world but not the smallest country. It was once one of the richest countries in the world back with the boom of Phosphate mining in the 1970’s. Most of the phosphate is gone now and since the country has struggled until Australia started up a detention camp on the island. The camp itself has created over 100 jobs as well as helping all the local businesses. Before the camps were setup the unemployment rate was around 90%. This was due to the country being so rich from mining that wealth was distributed and the people of Nauru no longer felt the need to work. This had an extra effect of people no longer, fishing or gardening and became very sedentary. Soon followed as the importation of western food which has lead to 97% of the population being overweight or obese. Now over 40% of the population suffers from type 2 diabetes.
