The site is back! Wix confirmed that no terms of service were broken and all the info on the site is public. They tried to silence the truth, but they failed spectacularly! This is a big win for gamers. Gamergate isn’t dead; we’re playing by the rules and winning. Smash JT said it was unfair for Wix to take the site down without any warning, and I agree. If Wix had given a heads-up about the mass flag reports, Smash JT could have made the necessary corrections. Instead, they just took the whole site down immediately. That’s just messed up. Hypnotic posted a tweet pointing out the hypocrisy of Kotaku. They accused Kotaku Detected of harassment while they were doing the same thing by posting profiles of their employees for people to harass online. Now, let’s talk about Nick Calandra. He’s from Second Wind and he tried to sabotage Smash JT’s website by hiding behind protected tweets and directing his followers to mass report the Kotaku Detected page. He claimed it was for safety and protection, but it was really a desperate attempt to silence a platform he saw as a threat. Nick Calandra’s constant attacks and empty threats of lawsuits against those who oppose him have backfired spectacularly. His attempts to silence Smash JT have been thwarted, and now, if he wants to pursue legal action, he’ll need to start with Wix. The hosting service affirmed that nothing on Smash JT’s site is illegal. The site is well within its rights to host and feature information about public figures. Nick’s shady history in the Second Wind Discord is worth mentioning. He’s been accused of doxxing and threatening physical violence against those who oppose him. This speaks volumes about his character. In the end, the gaming community can celebrate this victory. Smash JT’s site is back online, proving that the forces of good have triumphed over those who seek to undermine truth and facts.
