The latter half of the Factory is certainly some of the more interesting levels, there is an overarching gimmick that kind of vibes with Forest of Illusion. Instead of finding secret exits, you have to uncover secret buttons in each level (they're not too hard to find), and once you get them all, you'll be able to advance! Otherwise, prepare to retrace your steps all over again in the levels where you missed them. These levels host some of the more interesting gimmicks: ranging from oscillating platforms alongside tricky barrel cannon capers; a certain Mario Maker 2 gimmick that could be linked to this game being the originator and of course, a level revolving around music! So, what does these buttons do, you ask? And who the HECK is that chicken in the thumbnail? Well, either you already know, about to be reminded or you're ready to find out for yourself! Dark Star Edition was created by Shadeblade, using some assets of Master Quest Jr. as a base and for inspiration! Gameplay, captions, editing and live/post-commentary done by myself. NOTE: There is profanity in the video, so children viewership is not at all recommended. If there's one thing that I love in life is Mario RPGs and Paper Mario is easily in the top 5 of those games. However, there was one thing that I had trouble finding available for this game. That thing was a good challenge. First off was the Paper Mario: Double Pain Challenge, that was kind of a cool happening, but sadly, it wasn't something that held up water after a while. Then when learning about all of the Paper Mario modding, I've discovered Master Quest and its Jr. version. After trying the former, I decided to go with the latter and it was certainly challenging and rather neat with some of the additions. Then my friend, Mageknight404, clued me in on a new mod and it's one that I haven't dove too deeply in and to be fair, I am all for sharing information from Master Quest Jr. AND Dark Star Edition in the course of one video series. Here you will see a myriad of changes that may come to a shock to those that have not dabbled into the realm of Paper Mario modding and I want to be an advocate of how truly awesome the whole thing is becoming as of late. Badges, items, enemies, bosses and even partners have all been modified to provide a unique experience that can only hint of things to come in the future. The randomizer was one thing and Master Quest Jr. was enough, here's hoping that this video might make you take the leap into the scene. But of course, please be sure to get familiar with the original. Because we wouldn't have this great modification without Intelligent Systems and Nintendo's efforts from the very beginning!
