"While Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo DC, she knows it’s time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
"Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There’s no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning." From the Steam store page.

"Armed with a simple yet stylish revolver and six devastatingly plump bullets, you must reset the security mainframe to restore order and reap the rewards of a job well done. To succeed in the game, players will need to move carefully and make smart use of their bullets, items, and the environment as rushing into new areas is the fastest way to get killed in the untamed wild of the neon corridors." -from the Heavy Bullets page.

Widelands: a free, real-time strategy game - Open source gaming on Linux
Available from https://wl.widelands.org
"In Widelands, you are the regent of a small clan. You start out with nothing but your headquarters, where all your resources are stored.
"In the course of the game, you will build an ever growing settlement. Every member of your clan will do his or her part to produce more resources - wood, food, iron, gold and more - to further this growth. The economic network is complex and different in the three tribes (Barbarians, Imperials, and Atlanteans).
"As you are not alone in the world, you will meet other clans sooner or later. Some of them may be friendly and you may eventually trade with them. However, if you want to rule the world, you will have to train soldiers and fight.
"Widelands offers a unique style of play. For example, a system of roads plays a central role in your economy: all the goods that are harvested and processed by the tribe must be transported from one building to the next. This is done by carriers, and those carriers always walk along the roads. It is your job to lay out the roads as efficiently as possible.
"Another refreshing aspect of the game is the way you command your clan. There is no need to tell every single one of your subjects what to do - that would be impossible, because there can be thousands of them! Instead, all you need to do is order them to build a building somewhere, and the builders will come. Similarly, whenever you want to attack an enemy, just place an order to attack one of their barracks, and your soldiers will march to fight. You're really a ruler: You delegate in times of war and in times of peace!
"Widelands offers single-player mode with different campaigns; the campaigns all tell stories of tribes and their struggle in the Widelands universe! However, settling really starts when you unite with friends over the Internet or LAN to build up new empires together - or to crush each other in the dusts of war. Widelands also offers an Artificial Intelligence to challenge you.
"In the end, Widelands will be extensible, so that you can create your own tribe with their own set of buildings, create new worlds to play in, and even create new types of worlds (who says you can't build a settlement on the moon?)." From the Widelands website.

HITMAN™ involves you playing as the world-famous bald and grumpy assassin known as Agent 47. Each level basically involves you staging an assassination. The levels are generally pretty massive with lots of stuff to do in them. So the idea is that there are so many ways to complete any given level that most of the fun, is trying out different ways to take out your next victim.
You could probably polish off the whole game in a day, if you weren’t particularly interested in exploring the pretty expansive missions, trying out all the novel assassination techniques and eavsdropping on all the back story.
Now the controls took me a while to get comfortable with at first, you can rebind them, but eventually I got used to it all. I think pretty much every Hitman game except Absolution has pretty janky controls, but if you (like most Hitman die-hards) see this game as more of a puzzle game than as an action/combat game, you’ll probably find it easier to forgive once you get into the swing of it all.
For a game as complicated as this, yes there were AI mishaps from time to time, but for the most part I ran into surprisingly few bugs, considering I played the day one Linux release and the levels ad character mechanics are just so expansive and complex, even compared to previous Hitman titles.
The level design has always been a strong point of the franchise, and this takes it all to a whole new level. Different disguises that you can wear, will look less suspicious in areas where you’d expect to see that outfit, and for the most part you can even find ways to circumvent any given checkpoint or level-stage. It also fits in little nuances like other staff wearing the same uniform as yours being more likely to see through your disguise, given that they’ll likely know who they co-workers are, this incentivises you to work out who people like the shift supervisors are, since they tend to be the ones who most likely know who’s on their shift.
The novel aspects of each mission and dark humour also make this game what it is, in one of the earlier missions, you can even kill two of your targets, by pushing one off a balcony on to the other below. A two for one kind of deal. It also made me realise why the two Hitman films were so bad (apart from the writing and acting) was that Hitman is a dark comedy at heart and nothing resembling a Hollywood action thriller. In fact the franchise regularly parodies Hollywood action thrillers.
Personally I’ve had the most fun out of achievement hunting in this game. Growing familiar with the basic layout of a level so that it feels comfortable delving into the minu
