ChinnyVision - Ep 428 - Mr Wimpy - Spectrum, C64, BBC Micro
The early days of computer games were full of games that borrowed rather heavily from the arcades. Mr Wimpy from Ocean is a Burger Time clone, tailored for a tie in with the Wimpy fast food chain. ChinnyVision looks at the game on real hardware using a Spectrum, BBC, and Commodore 64.

A beat-em-up based on the popular television show ported to all the major UK computer formats. We look at the CPC, Spectrum, C64, ST and Amiga versions to see if this is a game worth visiting 30 years later, or if it's just a cash in from Domark.

Zub was the first game where John and Ste Pickford worked together. They later went on to have success with Plok, Wetrix and the superb Magnetic Billiards on iOS. But how does their first game stand up?
We go back to 1987 to look at this MAD/Mastertronic game on the Amstrad CPC, Sinclair Spectrum and Commodore 64 in detail.
Huge thanks to John and Ste for answering my questions and letting me use some of their original artwork. Go to http://www.zee-3.com/plok/shop/ and buy Plok goodies which Zub/Zob crops up in a fair bit!

The Spectrum can still surprise in 2021 and here's 3 new games that, in some aspects, will blow your tiny minds.
Travel Through Time Northern Lights is a new racing game that you won't believe is running on Sir Clive's computer.
Wonderful Dizzy is a amazing update for Dizzy with smooth animation and an amazing amount of colour.
Xenoblast is a shoot-em-up with a soundtrack that may just be the best thing you've ever heard from a 1 bit beeper.
All 3 games are being played on original hardware.

An Amstrad CPC budget game written by Spec Tech and Amstrad Action Technical Editor, Adam Waring. But is it any good?
The game was also given away free on the covertape of the January 1991 edition of Amstrad Action which also featured Adam Waring on the cover. Spook!
