Often misidentified as a Griffin or shishi from Asian cultures, This Winged lion is actually The Lion of St. Mark. Also not to be confused with a gargoyle, this sculpture is much more symbolic and quite fragile carved from coral rock.
> The Lion of Saint Mark, representing the evangelist St Mark, pictured in the form of a winged lion holding a Bible, is the symbol of the city of Venice and formerly of the Venetian Republic. It is also found in the symbol of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria. It appears in both merchant and military naval flags of the Italian Republic. The Lion of Saint Mark is also the symbol of the award of the Venice Film Festival, the "Golden Lion", and of the insurance company Assicurazioni Generali.

This is part of my Nebulous Series where I digitally create nebulas in hopes of inspiring imagination, creativity, and curiosity. Each nebula is created individually every day and they are all unique to one another in the series, never repeating. Let's all gaze into the stars together.

As part of this series, it is my goal to give back here with Lbry community as well. So, I will be giving one person at random a tip after leaving a thoughtful comment about what this image means to you.

Today was a rainy day and reminded me of one of my earlier paintings. As a South Florida native, I miss the Autumn changes. I was inspired by the following quote from Robert Frost and with that as inspiration I created this piece. You can almost feel the cool wind and dark skies with a tornado brewing.
"My sorrow, when she's here with me, thinks these dark days of autumn rain are beautiful as days can be; she loves the bare, the withered tree; she walks the sodden pasture lane." – Robert Frost.
Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes. Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. He became one of America's rare "public literary figures, almost an artistic institution." He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1960 for his poetic works. On July 22, 1961, Frost was named poet laureate of Vermont.

“It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received. It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters,” – Amit Ray. I love this quote, and it pretty much sums up how I try to live my life. I am a firm believer of what you put in, is what you get out of life. Positive vibes and a good work ethic are the most important factors in what it means to be successful. What does success mean to you?
I created this particular piece in 2013 and was a reoccurring vision I had. This scene could be any beach in South Florida, but the color palette is what really spoke to me in this piece. It is very difficult to capture a pink sky and unless you have seen it for yourself it's hard to even express. It is an ambient light that literally makes the world around you radiate. Sometimes referred to as "the golden hour", This is even more intense than that. It usually occurs In early winter when the temperature begins to change and the skies are crisp right after the rain. There was something about this piece on a personal level that I still can't quite explain… Needless to say, this is part of my private collection and I view it daily.

"To be a lighthouse, you must be strong enough to resist every kind of storm, to every kind of loneliness and you must have a powerful light inside you!" – Mehmet Murat Ildan. It is something about lighthouses that just simply inspire perseverance, a sense of hope, and guidance. I'm sure this is attributed to the psychological aspect of what a lighthouse provided for our ancestors, but still, you cannot deny those feelings even in the modern age. I thought this also might be a particularly appropriate post today considering what looks to be the end of an extremely bearish crypto market, or at least the hope thereof.
The Jupiter Lighthouse (known as The Jupiter Inlet Light) is located in Jupiter, Florida, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. The site for the lighthouse was chosen in 1853. It is located between Cape Canaveral Light and Hillsboro Inlet Light. The lighthouse was designed by then Lieutenant George G. Meade of the Bureau of Topographical Engineers. Meade's design was subsequently modified by Lieutenant William Raynolds. The Jupiter Inlet silted shut in 1854, forcing all building supplies to be shipped in light boats down the Indian River. Work was interrupted from 1856 to 1858 by the Third Seminole War. The lighthouse was completed under the supervision of Captain Edward A. Yorke in 1860 at a cost of more than $60,000.

**Title : Home Sweet Home**
Sometimes we can find beauty in the simplest of things. We have so much happening in the world around us; to notice only takes a change in perspective.
> Alice: I simply must get through!
> Doorknob: Sorry, you're much too big. Simply impassible.
> Alice: You mean impossible?
> Doorknob: No, impassible. Nothing's impossible.
> ― Lewis Carroll
