Calling On the Name of the Lord - Ask Jesus to Save You | Gospel | Salvation #shorts
There's a strange teaching going around that says it's wrong to call on the name of the Lord or to ask Jesus to save you. This is hyper-extreme legalism. While it's not a requirement to verbalize your faith, and all it takes is genuinely believing in the heart, verbalizing your profession of faith is perfectly normal and natural at the moment of realization of faith. By calling out to Jesus, we are willingly enter into a salvation covenant with Jesus by His blood.
Romans 10:9-11:
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Who is the new covenant given to? Is it the Jews, gentiles, or all people? Some teach that Jeremiah 31:31, which speaks of the new covenant, was only to the house of Israel and Judah and that it is only given to the Jews.
They further claim that the new covenant won't be initiated until the return of Jesus when He sets up His millennial kingdom. The proponents of this heresy include the Hebrew Roots cult as well as some dispensationalists.
But the Bible declares that the new covenant was ratified by Jesus' blood at the moment of His death and that the new covenant is for all who believe, Jews and gentiles alike; the new covenant is not some far-off distant event that will be established at the millennial kingdom, but is available now to all who call upon Jesus for salvation.
Hebrews 10:16: "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;"
