We may have completed our liberation mission but now we have to deal with Nebula's current plan. Throughout the world, people as well as NetNavis have become too negative. And that's due to Nebula. We travel into the Undernet itself and reach the very end where we find the last signal transmitter. To our surprise, it can't be destroyed. But then Dark Protoman shows up who ends up destroying it. Why? Because Nebula got what they wanted. With the transmitters destroyed, things go back to normal... or do they? Now Dark Protoman wants to put an end to Megaman. But from out of nowhere, Meddy comes in to trap him with the HealingPulse. She's able to hold him in place and then Colonel shows up. Colonel appears to help Mega and Meddy free Protoman from the darkness that corrupt him. Meddy takes it up to full power and removes the DarkPower. Colonel knocks Protoman out while Mega finishes the job. With the darkness finally expelled from Protoman, he's back to normal. Not only that but Mega attains ProtoSoul as a result. Colonel then departs, having completed his mission. Mega, Meddy and Protoman all depart. Chaud is thankful that Protoman has returned. The team is now back at full power. But the big question is where's Nebula. Thanks to Protoman, we now know where it's at. But tomorrow is where we will finally take the fight to them. But it's then they decide to take care of one last loose end. Lan also made a promise to his mother that he'll bring his father back home. They head to SciLab Area 3 and using all the clues given, the two find the last VisionBurst. What they find is something shocking. They end up in an old laboratory set in the far past. They enter inside and find two individuals: one of them was Tadashii Hikari, the grandfather of Lan and Hub. The other is none other than Wily, Regal's father. They find that these two did what they could with their research. Turns out Wily, before he turned evil, was another scientist who helped Dr. Hikari aka Dr. Light. So basically, the Battle Network timeline was the result of a deviaion where instead of robotics, they focused on technology and the Net. And it's here we find that the two were responsible for SoulNet and the SoulServer. Wily says that the SoulNet is a double-edged sword where something can go wrong. The next day soon comes and the Anti-Nebula squad are gearing up to take the fight to Dr. Regal himself. Their base is located in Mt. Belenus. So they need to take a chopper to get there. Upon arriving, they find that in order to get further, they need to disable security within the Dark Chip Factory. This is where we get to work alongside our fellow Navis to shut it all down. In the first bit, you work with MagnetMan to disable security and it soon becomes a puzzle of sorts. It's also here we have our rematch with BlizzardMan. Not a hard fight. He's defeated but then a black hole to DarkGalaxy opens hoping to suck Megaman in. But Magnetman takes the full brunt and gets sucked in. No time to mourn. We got to keep going.
