Something about a Stand-Up Bass on a hot city street. It tells a story. The hot summer city streets are jazz come to life . A cacophony of sounds, and moves , sweats and desires. Human emotion boiling over. The dreams and visions cast against the crush of survival and the dangerous jungle of hungry tigers. And somehow in the middle of this murly soup people find each other and transcend the brutal environs to create their own kind of peace.
I have lived in an apartment that gets very hot in summer for quite a while. I used to following the rhythem of nature and getting outside whenever it gets a little too hot. The walled air conditioner can't compete with the summer sun beating down from the West, I find it hard to run an air conditioner. So noisey and so artificial. It is unberably hot but you can always go outside, And you should go outside. Thats where the party is. Millions of citizens pushed out of their boxes and onto the street to cool down a bit.
Well it's So damn hot
I can barely breathe
I got sand in my eyes
and up my sleeve
its so damn hot
I can barely walk
I feel like
I'm smothering inside
and I want to talk to you
Just one more time
in the sunshine
You and me
On the beach
not on these
hot city streets
where I can't see the sky
And I don't know why
Im even here right now
because it's so damn hot
I can barely breathe
But I ain't got the nerve
to just up and leave
Cause she lives right upstairs
and I hear her walking round
We talked the other day
down by the mailbox
She's looking at TV
and I'm looking at leaving
there's not a lot in between
because it's so damn hot
That I can barely breathe
I got this rash
on the side of my
elbow sleeve
There are ants
crawling up the door
they're trying to get in
she's relaxing in the bathtub thinking about him
it's so damn hot baby
That I just got to
get out of here
I got to go to the local
Thrifty's drug store
and just walk around
in the air conditioning
it's so damn hot
my feet are melting
I'm going to topple over
and make a bridge for someone
this is the last time
I will ever see you
you're like a lost little girl
At sea
cuz it's so damn hot
that I got to find some shade
I got to get on out
get back to the place
where I got it made
Just Let Me
Let me Down Easy baby
Just Let Me Down Easy baby
just turn that fan over here
let me feel it
let me come back alive again
I know I can deal with it
