Rough but Awesome 2001 ThyssenDover VR Hydraulic Elevators at One Mallard Pointe (Charlotte NC)
This was the biggest unexpected surprise of the day. I marked this place not knowing what they have. And I was blown away to find Late ThyssenDovers with DOVER VR!
These cabs look gorgeously awesome and the fixture choice is king! To my disappointment though, the first cab I rode ran like utter shit. Thankfully the 2nd cab I got ran so much better and I got to take in the glory of these cabs. These could definitely use some better maintenance because whoever is maintaining these isn't doing a good job. But I won't let that fully take away from how beautiful and epic these cabs are disregarding the ride quality of the 1st one.
I think the Service Cab is disabled for public use as I was unable to ride it. There is a back entrance, but it requires a scan of a FOB/Keycard to Call it on the backside.

As much as I like these, this one is in horrendous condition. Arrow Indicators are broken and only glow going down, cab is vandalized and trashy looking, and some crusty ass Call Panel buttons on the outside. Poor bastard has seen better days but I think it ran fine if I remember correctly.

TK 1515! WHERE DO I BEGIN?!?!?!
To start off with, I was expecting a simple Hydro TKE. Though when I saw the Call Station, I was wondering if I found what I think I found... as soon as the Traction Motor started up my jaw dropped and as soon as the cab opened up, mega foaming began!
This is a fresh find ISIS I! I dug deep into YT and it seems that no one has filmed this elevator, making it a fresh find from yours truly! While it's a 2 Story Elevator, it's a pretty epic one! TK ISIS Elevators like this are extremely rare to find, so knowing that this hasn't been discovered yet, it's refreshing to find a never before seen one! It's also a sigh of relief I don't have to travel over 4 hours to see what would've been my first one in Wake Forest.
Let's talk about the elevator now. This thing runs great! I think the ropes on this elevator may have been replaced since Kelvar isn't known for holding up well and has caused several incidents. There really isn't a way for me to tell if that's the case or not, but it does run smoothly so that's possible proof I guess. I'm so glad I don't have to travel 5 Hours for an ISIS when this is much closer! For those looking for a New ISIS Elevator to film in NC, have at this one!

This elevator was a 1960's Westbrook Traction that got a Slap On Mod by United States elevator in 1981. This year, it recieved an Innovation and Equipment Mod by Delaware Elevator in June 2022 after being broken down for a whole ass year. About 6 months later, it finally works? How does it compare to how it was? Ummm... it's not very good.
For one, the slap on crap is very unappealing to look at. They just slopped some new Bruiser shit on and called it a day at first glance. The cab interior is still the same as it was, which makes it look out of place. I was hoping the cab was getting redone as most of the building already got redone, but no, they did the bare minimum.
They did get new machinery and equipment by the looks of it as the old Westbrook Machines were in the throw away pile outside, but honestly I can't tell a difference between the new equipment and the old. In fact, the start up still sounds Westbrook-y, and it still runs rather poorly. It vibrates quite a bit during the whole up and down journey. The only difference I can tell is that the elevator levels a lot better than how it did before.
Overall, I am not happy with this mod. Sure, the old cab before the mod was a piece of shit and 100% needed to be modded, but they barely fixed any of the problems that the old cab had. It still runs rough, the fixture choice is cheap looking and unappealing (at least the old US Circle buttons looked unique despite being hella cheap), and they did jack shit to make the cab newer and better than the old cab. The only cool thing they did is that they covered the outside first floor indicator spot with the name of the building, which is kinda neat. But overall, this pile of mediocrity is looking like a waste of money and I could see this breaking down a lot soon.

You guys remember on my video of the 300A's on this property that I said there were still no escaping Dover Impulses on this property? Well, here's 4 of them.
I only filmed 3 of the 4. The first Elevator and the one next to it I didn't film were in Building A and were installed around 1988. It's a basic but neat Impulse that runs well and has the same beautiful updated cab designs as the other elevators on this property.
The other 2 in this video are in Building A and are actually older ones from 1986, with the Segmented Lanterns and Weird Quirks. The 1st one has a Low Pitch Dover Buzz, and the other one has a TK Label and lots of red. They also run well and feature the same nice and modern cab designs as the prior cabs.
All of these seem to be DMC controlled, but despite the whole "dMc-1 oBsOlETe" campaign ThyssenKrupp is doing, I don't see these (and likely the other 1000 Impulses around West Greensboro) going anywhere anytime soon.

In comparison to One Town Square, the sequel is very underwhelming with VR 330Lames.
The other thing that make up for them is the Interesting cab designs but that's about it. It's also interesting to note that these are the Oldest HT VR elevators I've filmed yet.

Wow, I wasn't expecting these here. I don't know why they choose regular Conventional (Innovation Universal) buttons instead of Conventional VR (Innovation Security), but whatever. These run surprisingly well for their age but could use a bit of cleaning up. The view isn't the most amazing thing, but at least it isn't a view of a wall.

I am still utterly shocked that the COP of this Dover still has it's OG buttons, because ones about to pop out! I think sadly that button replacements for these old GAL buttons are likely needed soon, maybe GAL JetPlus if some still exist (I know it's been discontinued but still) or even Adam's Replacement Dover Traditional (Adam's Survivor/D).
Like the ?️?️?️?️?️'s, this elevator has some weird add ons, like the Innovation Universally Cheap Call Panels and the weird Dot Matrix Floor Indicator. Besides those add ons, the COP and I think machinery are still original and I'm surprised how well this runs for what seems like an early Oildraulic Model! This is a rather interesting gem, but I hope they can at least get a replacement ring for the 4 Button.

I had recieved word that this Otis Lexan was recently modded, and it was. This elevator was a rare Otis Lexan HPA 2000 with the Edge Lit Indicator apart of this shithole hotel, and because of that, the elevator became a run down pile of shit. Honestly, the surprising part is how the hell is this dump still open?
It got a pretty unimpressive Innovation Mod by some 3rd Party Company, and I'll give it this, it fixes the issues of this thing running like crap, but I doubt that'll last. However, another issue remains, the shitty and run down cab design still remains. Why did they not update the cab interior? It still looks like a dumpy "drugavator". But then again, this is the same hotel that turned Universal Rundle Colburn urinals into waterless "urinals" and left gaping holes in the walls where the FV's were, so honestly, none of this surprises me. Yet another unlikeable mod.
