I've heard a lot over the past few years about how awful Rap is as a genre, and I realize why people feel this way, but this sentiment has led to many to call for the ban of Rap as a whole. I believe that removing Rap as a genre will eliminate an ability to tell stories in a way that is more than simple poetry. Rhythm and poetry could be a gateway for bringing disadvantaged youth to the light, instead of the darkness.
