Crappy 1962 Otis Black Button Traction Elevator @ Haywood Park Promenade (Asheville, NC)
The words "crap" and "Black Button" NEVER go together, but sadly this is one of those times.
This cab is disgusting and crusty. Clearly there is no cleaning that goes on in this cab and it shows. The fact the buttons are in fine condition is very surprising. Next thing is that this cab is TINY! I don't have a fear of tight spaces, but this cab is ridiculous! If you're clusterphobic, I don't recommend riding this cab.
Not only that, this thing runs like shit. Super jolty and unpleasant feeling. Only two other people have filmed this, Floridian Elevators & WI Sirens & Elevators. I can kinda see why. Not only is this cab hidden off from the others, it's not good at all. The fixtures are awesome, but the cab itself is a piece of crap. They need to not only fix up the operations, but give this cab a fresh cab design (NOT A MOD).

This is a strange set of Thyssenkrupp Northern Tracts. They run smooth while traveling, but they stop kinda rough and bounce a slight bit. Maybe they need to tone down the speed a bit...

In comparison to the first two POS Auroras of the week, this set of two Auroras are much better; they have neat layouts and run well. Pretty much everything is original (except a replacement MAD BS CA button on the 2nd floor) on these for the most part. Both cabs have similar cab sizes to certain Schindler 300As I've filmed (1 Town Square for example), which is rather neat and the designs are nice as well.

This is a basic but fine Gen2 Mod. These probably replaced some Otis 2000 elevators, but I cannot fully confirm that fact.

I have no clue what the heck these elevators are, but I’m leaning towards Schindler or Kone. The first cab is super fast, meanwhile the other one is broken down. xD
Overall, the 1st cab is super fast, efficient, and fun to ride up and down, but the cabs themselves look super simplistic with Adams Survivors Plus buttons and a weird Dot Maxtrix Indicator. The other one needs fixing ASAP.

The college had a bit of Series 6/Standards, and this is the only one I filmed. These run well, but are very noisy.
NOTE: An official Otis document does list these fixtures as "Series 6", so I'm going with that name (as well as Standard) from now on. This was filmed before I knew this fact. If you don't believe me, the link will take you to the Elevation Fandom to the pic I uploaded. Keep in mind, it is an image from an official Otis document: https://elevation.fandom.com/wiki/File:Series6COPPage.jpg

Here are two very, nice, and fancy Kone Elevators with KSS 570 Fixtures! These are WAY too nice for a hotel and are also reflective thanks to the amount of mirrors in the cabs.
The right cab acts like a normal Kone while the left cab talks. Both of these things are ABSOLUTE ROCKETS for 7 Floors as they apparently go 350 FPM according to the TN certificate. Despite the speed, these run smooth as butter! Kone hit it out of the park with these two cabs!
As for the models, I think they're EcoSpaces but I've heard that these are possibly more likely to be MonoSpaces. Who knows?

This is the before and after video of a modded Early 1960's Montgomery Hydraulic Elevator. Before 2021, this Montgomery was added onto the building in the Early 1960's, so it's not original to this place which was built in the 1940's I believe. I assume this Monty likely had Payne Fixtures, particularly the Dome Black Button indicated by the interior floor indicator. Around the 1980's-1990's, it got a slight mod with Adams Survivors Plus buttons and a VR latern, but mostly everything was original. Then it got modded around February of 2021, and I don't know who modded this.
Not only did they mod this, they redone the ENTIRE CAB with the only thing original being the flooring. The Call Panels, Floor Indicators, Main Panel, and hell, I think even the motor got replaced. The fixtures seem to be Newer Innovation fixtures. The Main COP and Call Panels are Innovation Prestige. Overall, the cab looks nice and I kinda like these newer fixtures. You can actually hear the motor without that dumb fan going too! However, my gripe is that it looks out of place in a 1940's building filled with most of its OG Asethetics and I wish they at least kept the Payne Floor Indicators. Oh well. At least it's not a predictable garbage Universally Cheap Slop On.
