?? A friend of mine sent me this clip for me to transcribe so that he can get an idea of what Mike Dawson/Vinnie Colaiuta was playing the video. I find it super interesting and for that reason today I share it with you in my Youtube Channel. Kudos To Mike ??
This is just a fragment of a drum clinic that Horacio "el negro" Hernandez performed at Just Drums store in Toronto Canada.

? ✌?
?? This time I share with you a video that my friend Carlos recorded for me in one of the many times that I have gone to his house to share knowledge and information about drums and music in general.
The video is of poor quality. That was in 2012 when the cell phones we had at that time weren't enough for 3 cents. ?
In this video I am unloading all my resources in a messy way and without a specific format, I was just doing what we call in the world of drums: "musical gymnastics".
It's kind of a challenge trying to last as long as you can trying to emulate a long drum solo. That makes your hands as fast as a bullet. It's the same concept of hitters adding weight to the bat before swinging the ball. ?
• I apologize once again for the quality of the audio / video ??
• I keep transcribing. Now immersed in a JOJO MAYER transcription that has me super busy.
• In the meantime, I share other things that I think may be of interest to some between one transcription video and the next because the interval is so long.
• Expect new changes on this channel. That includes a change of name, logo, concepts etc ... good things are coming from the cuban drum world.? ✌?

?? ¡Hola amigos!

?? Hello Friends!
Here I share with you another short compilation of myself playing drums in the basement. Some clips are in my house and some clips are from rehearsals I did with a nameless and unknown band from here in #toronto. We met on an website called www.bandmix.ca
We never played together before. The music you'll hear are pure improvised tunes that we usually started playing after smoking weed (it's legal in Canada) and before getting into the more serious material, which it was the actual repertoir of the band (covers). Only 3 of us ? Anyway, nothing out of this world...but you can see how quickly we all 3 get on board with any idea we could bring to the table right on the spot.
Hope you like it!

#CarterBeauford #DrumTranscriptions
?? I've been transcribing Carter Beauford drum solos ( Specially the "BONUS" one in this video ) since the late 90's. I remember a musician friend of mine was given a couple of CDs of DAVE MATTHEWS BAND as a gift for his birthday by this canadian tourist that was staying in our town back home in CUBA. In the 2nd DISC, there was a track called #36 that captivated me from the first note played.
I didn't have a CD PLAYER at the time, only an old CASSETTE PLAYER (Walkman) so i had to make a copy in cassette. I struggled A LOT to hear the Hi-Hat hits in that artifact ? . So, you can imagine how many mutations (transcriptions) this drum solo has? Just from me trying to decipher it through the technology of the time. Not until recently, I had the time to revisit this drum solo and transcribe it one more time. Now with better technologies...lol!
I also found on YOUTUBE different versions of the same solo, or at least, of the same "THEME".
What I did here was to rearrange the TOMS, CYMBALS & STICKINGS to a standard Drum Set ( 3 toms + BS + SD + HH + 2 OR 3 CYMBS ) and how I'd play it myself on the kit. I already try them all and let me tell you that they sound pretty close to the originals ?.. That's the idea! To be able to play them right away and use them to make your own variations and hybrids...the same way CARTER did here playing around the same THEME.
I HOPE YOU DIG IT!
? CHEERS ?
