In this video I walk you through creating layers in your template. To do this, I built a script that builds my layers for me.
Here are the links from the video.

This video walks you through creating a basic door block and adding the ability to scale it dynamically. Imagine: no more using the scale tool to change the size of your doors in AutoCAD! Hooray!
Work with me as I walk you through making a simple dynamic block of a door in AutoCAD. When you're done, you will be able to dynamically scale, rotate, and flip the contents of your block, as well as control your block via the Properties dialogue.
Check out the other videos in this playlist:

This video is the first in a series in which I put together a plan set for municipal submission for a house renovation project.
In this video, I draft the basement level's structural elements, including exterior and interior walls, doors, windows, stairs, and plumbing fixtures using an implementation of the AIA layering system. The drawing is constructed of polylines and blocks. The blocks are created in video with dynamic properties allowing them to scale, rotate, and flip.

This video is an overview of SketchUp's interface, methods of selection, and drawing navigation.
After going throught this video, you should be able find the file menu, tool bar, model space, measurement dialogue, and tool description. You should also be able to select individual object primitives, select composite object primitives, and understand the difference between right and left dragging selections. In addition, you should understand how to orbit, free orbit, and pan around your drawing.
