Still Report #414 - Obama Gags State Dept Folk?

Good evening, I’m still reporting on – freedom.
As internal dissent grows in the normally quiescent State Department over the Clinton email scandal, the Obama administration has cracked down on State Department employees who might be thinking about sneaking up to Capitol Hill to tell all to the Benghazi Committee.
According to the wildly popular and widely respected anonymous State Department blog, Diplopundit, on July 27, 2015, State quietly released new rules strongly recommending that employees visit with Department attorneys before they say anything about their work at State – even after retirement.
Portions of the 19 pages of revised rules were quoted by Diplopundit in his daily blog on Aug. 17.
“Employee testimony, whether in an official capacity or in a personal capacity on a matter of Departmental concern … should consult with the Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser or [U.S. Agency of International Development’s] Office of the General Counsel, as appropriate, to determine applicable procedures.”
“… the Final Review Office will evaluate whether the employee’s public communication is highly likely to result in serious adverse consequences to the efficiency or mission of the Department, such that preventing those consequences outweighs the employee’s presumptively high interest in communicating and the public’s interest in receiving the communication.”
On Aug. 18, Diplopundiit opined on the situation:
“I understand most in our profession are admirers of Hillary, but the lack of response from the Department on this e-mail issue is a disgrace. A Cabinet-level official and her top aides completely disregard IT security policies for 4 years, and we’re not even recognizing how badly we failed? “
The Aug. 19 edition of Diplopundit characterized the new rules as “gag rules.”
By then, word had reached Capitol Hill.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee agreed, saying that State Department employees:
“…should be able to talk to the media, they should be able to speak to Congress. They have an absolute and total right to interact with Congress. There are whistleblower protections.”
Whistleblower protections!!!? You’ve got to be kidding. It is sad to say, but true, the word is out in Washington, that for the last 17 months left in the reign of emperor Obama, it’s better to keep your head down and live to fight another day.
We’ll try to fix all this once he’s gone – unless he is followed by Queen Clinton.

A real treasure for future researchers.
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
