Directed by Tod Browning, after the success of Dracula (1931), Browning was given free range on his next project. Having worked in a circus, he created 'FREAKS'--however, audiences were not ready for what they were about to see. 'FREAKS' was a commercial failure, and Browning soon retired afterwards; many speculating the disappointment broke Browning. Only decades later would it be recognized as a true horror masterpiece.

Iconic Universal horror film The Mummy. Imohtep (Boris Karloff) searches for his lost love after being brought back to life by English archeologists. The film was a success, followed by four sequels, and helped cement Karloff as one of the all time horror film greats.
