You will WANT some magic users and debuffers for this guy. Banchu likes a war of attirition essentially and it REALLY likes to stretch the battle out as much as possible. Its method of doing that is with the Logos of Protection. This move will enhance him with "No Physical" status which will block physical attacks from bothering it for at least a few turns. Other moves/attacks of interest: Poisonous Vapors will inflict someone with the dreaded SICKNESS ailment. Ground Shot is the reason why you spread out everyone because it's a line-drive kind of attack. Pride Wave is its "buff" where it gambles, on its Logos of Protection doing the job, by pouring his defense into Magic Defense. Last but NOT least is the dreaded Oppressed Anger, this move seems to hit EVERYONE regardless of position and inflicts a myriad of status effects; doing a significant amount of damage in the process. Its biggest weakness? EVERY ELEMENT EVER! So you better have elementally-enhanced weapons, some really sick magic strategies and a supply of MP-restoring ideas because this will keep you in this fight magically. Moreover, you want to have someone know Dispel Magic, it'll be a great move to use when Pride Wave comes around as it'll remove the Magic Resistance boost if you're sticking to spells. As always, split up and keep your HP up, but also REMOVES status effects. Sickness is a pretty terrible status effect that will remain until you are KO'd or you cure it, and it means no restoratives will heal up your HP. A LOT of Banchu's special attacks seem to inflict it so I hope you brought plenty of Cure Sickness as well. This fight's pretty annoying, I'm not going to lie. But if you exploit its weaknesses, realize that ALL Rogress attacks ARE physical and you look for openings in this monster's turtling strategy, Banchu WILL fall!
