This time I will start with AutoCAD to create the geometric primitives, then to CAMBAM to apply machining operations on the geometric primitives and finally cutting out the parts. In this first part, I will be designing a vertical part holder. A holder for parts like lead screws, rails, rods and small steel or aluminum profiles. You can get the AutoCAD software from Autodesk. I personally like the simple user interface and I am able to understand the parameters from years of experience, so I don't need CAM software that explains what the parameters mean.
