Former President Donald Trump, aiming to become only the second commander-in-chief ever elected to two nonconsecutive terms, announced that he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. #Trump2024? Well, if I could vote would I vote for him. Well he was a great president but there is one big problem as I see it... ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07ZDFL83vXE
What is happening here exactly? Chinese former leader Hu Jintao has been led out of the closing ceremony of the Communist Party Congress. The frail-looking 79-year-old was sitting beside President Xi Jinping when he was approached and led away by officials. No explanation was given. After its week-long congress, the party is expected to confirm Mr Xi, 69, for a historic third term. The event, held in Beijing every five years, cemented his position as China's most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.

A MARK AND PETE PODCAST EPISODE. “#thenewnormall” may well not be normal at all. So we need to change, to know your place means to change because everything has changed. Epidemics or pandemics such as the Spanish flu or swine flu provide us with important lessons: history has a habit of repeating itself. There will be less demand for high-rise living because people are so troubled by higher densities and sharing lifts and other communal facilities. There will be less demand for high-rise living because people are so troubled by higher densities and sharing lifts and other communal facilities. Life will not be business as usual post-COVID. Is this a generational catastrophe? We will learn from this pandemic and we will create a new normal. We will need to make cities and country towns more resilient in the future. As an urban and regional planner and former chief commissioner of the Victorian Building Authority, I am certain there needs to be change in the way in which our cities and country areas function and how we can properly plan to build resilience in our communities. That will mean different things will happen to make our cities and towns great places to live, work and play; social distancing will remain a practice and we will notice people (including children) will have a heightened awareness of personal hygiene. Church, work, homelife - how are you going to fit in and work it out post Covid-19? Mark and Pete have the answers.

Views on the News. Recently a BBC TV news show made an interesting blunder involving Nicola Sturgeon. Sturgeon is the First Minister of Scotland who could be either described as a diminutive firebrand. She is very much pro Scotland being independent from the rest of Britain but remaining in the EU. Mark and Pete give their reaction and comment. This amusing gaffe does not have any political implications but is decidedly amusing. Enjoy.

One of my favourite doubles acts, Morecombe and Wise, used a number of songs to finish their Television shows. Positive thinking was one of them, this is a video using their song and video footage to lift your mood.

Lyrics:
When you feel down, try positive thinking:
That's what I'm told a man said;
Don't wear a frown, try positive thinking,
Laugh at your troubles instead;
You've got to look on the bright side,
On hope so much depends;
With your confidence sinking, positive thinking
Helps you on the way my friend!
When things look black, try positive thinking,
Treat every season as spring;
No glancing back: try positive thinking,
Trust what tomorrow may bring;
This crazy world that we live in
Will keep on spinning 'round;
But with good, strong, positive thinking,
We'll get together and life won't let us down!

That's what I'm told a man said;
Don't wear a frown, try positive thinking,
Laugh at your troubles instead;
You've got to look on the bright side,
On hope so much depends;
With your confidence sinking, postive thinking
Helps you on the way my friend!
When things look black, try positive thinking,
Treat every season as spring;
No glancing back: try positive thinking,
Trust what tomorrow may bring;
This crazy world what we live in
Will keep on spinning 'round;
But with good, strong, positive thinking,

Good, strong, positive drinking,
We'll get together and life won't let us dooooooooooown!

Prince Philip, who has died at the age of 99, will be remembered not only as the longest-serving consort but perhaps also as the most gaffe-prone one. We celebrate his best quotes.

In this episode of The Mark and Pete Show, Pete dives solo into the chaotic state of the Conservative Party's election campaign. With a sardonic touch, Pete dissects the unpreparedness of Tory candidates, the disarray within CCHQ, and the inconsistency of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He explores how Labour is making unexpected gains in traditional Tory strongholds, while Conservatives scramble to defend their positions. Pete humorously critiques the defensive strategies and lack of cohesive policies, questioning whether the Conservatives can rally voter support amid the cost of living crisis and other pressing issues. Join Pete for an insightful blend of Christian wisdom and business savvy as he unpacks the tumultuous landscape of British politics just weeks before the crucial polling day.
