thePermanentRecord 2.9
This is the nineteenth episode of what I thought would be zero when I created this channel.
thePermanentRecord is not legal advice. The law is a complex subject and should be treated accordingly.
thePermanentRecord was created to educate the public on the prevalence of government surveillance,
and government adoption of facial recognition technology. As well as to share my effort to create,
and maintain a system for use by citizens to similarly access the records of our public servants.
theTheroyBehindTheGame
The alphaTest of the detection software is complete and, I had started work on bringing the app to least viable model status.
When I reach enough people who are interested in having the app, I will go back to primarily coding and temporarily cease most video production,
aside from development status updates.
The ID software is a huge task. last estimate of full time LEO's in the US alone was around 660,000.
For the alphaTest of the ID software, I have begun to film, really poorly so far, and find footage or images, of officers in my area.
Aside from the sheer size, mention must also be made of the task's complexity. The computational resources alone are considerable.
Not to mention things like Officer attrition and poor transparency efforts. Or the simple monetary cost, only around $8,200 so far, but sure to grow.
Thank you for your support, looks like I'm going to need it.

Without all of you, my endeavor would be impossible. Having spent my fair amount of time in a cell, I know firsthand the kind
of abuses, those with authority will without fail eventually be guilty of. I am with you in spirit and, a lot of times in your live chats,
and streams. Keep up the amazing work and shoot me a line sometime.

FAIR USE DEFINITION:
(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use)
Fair use is a doctrine in the United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders,
such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship.
It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author’s work under a four-factor balancing test.
The term “fair use” originated in the United States.
A similar principle, fair dealing, exists in some other common law jurisdictions.
Civil law jurisdictions have other limitations and exceptions to copyright.
U.S. COPYRIGHT OFFICE- FAIR USE DEFINITION
(Source: http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html)
One of the rights accorded to the owner of copyright is the right to reproduce or to authorize others to reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords.
This right is subject to certain limitations found in sections 107 through 118 of the copyright law (title 17, U.S. Code). One of the more important limitations is the doctrine of “fair use”.
The doctrine of fair use has developed through a substantial number of court decisions over the years and has been codified in section 107 of the copyright law.
