# A quick method for making chlorine dioxide (CDS, ClO2) at 3000PPM
### *_Single Container:_*
- Put 60ml water in your larger, sealable container.
- In your floating cap or shot glass, put 1ml of base (sodium chlorite), and 2ml or barely over, 2.1ml of acid.
- Put the cap in the container of water so it floats, not letting water in.
- Seal/close the container, wait 2 1/2 - 3 hours
- Then you will have 60ml of concentrate at 3000PPM
### *_Multiple Containers_*:
So basically, it will be however many containers you run at a time, times 60ml. So if you run 5 containers at the same time:
- 5 containers running at the same time, each with the above setup
- 60ml in each 5 containers, will give you 60ml X 5 = 300ml of total concentrate.
- You can consolidate the concentrates all into the same container.
- Because they are all 3000PPM your consolidated concentrate will be, of course, 3000PPM
### _Andreas Kalcker's Method_
1. 300ml of water in your larger, sealable container.
2. In your shot glass, 5ml of base (sodium chlorite), and 5ml of acid.
3. Put it into the container of water, such that the water around doesn't get into the shot glass.
4. Seal the container, wait about 12 hours, or overnight.
5. Open container, dump out shot glass contents, repeat steps 2-4 with the same 300ml of water.
### _Summary_
- **Kalcker's method:** after the second round of 12 hours, you have 300ml of 3000PPM concentrate.
- **Kalcker's method:** BUT this takes nearly a ***full day***, maybe more!
* **Single Container, Quick:** after 2 1/2, 3 hours, you have 60ml of 3000PPM concentrate.
* **Single Container, Quick:** done quickly 2 1/2 - 3 hours
### _Conclusion_
1. I think we'll need to be able to make this in short order, and in larger quantities.
2. I've measured the single container concentrate PPM with strips, it is indeed a 3000PPM concentrate, or very near to it.
3. Run as many single containers as you need at one time.
4. Those containers are like, $1-$3, very inexpensive.
Think of it this way, Andreas' method is like one large two-stage rocket with larger fuel quantity, with one output on the rocket.
\>>|>>-------> (this is a rocket, one bigger booster, 2 stages :) )
This short method is like a rocket with a number of different smaller rockets all going at the same time. You get the same output, just in shorter time with multiple reactions.
