So this is a reworked version of the previous video. Specifically, I found that the Conductive Labs NDLR has a MIDI Polychain feature where I can spread the MIDI Channels of the PAD out to play Channels 4,5,6 - so that means I was able to turn the Dreadbox/Polyend Medusa's 6 Oscillators (using it's MIDI Channel per Oscillator feature) into a 3 Part Monophonic and 1 Part (three note) Polyphonic synth! Also, I added the Moog DFAM which is being Clocked Sync'd from the NDLR. A touch of Native Instruments Replika delay on the DFAM, and Valhalla Vintage Verb on the Medusa.

My friend Bo Beats asked me the other day how the synth plugins are in this Akai MPC Live II, and it made me realize that I hadn't really checked them out as much as I should have. So I started to play around with the new Drum Synth plugin (which is really nice) and before I knew it, I built up this quick little jam using only plugins, no samples... thought I'd post it here just for fun.

This is a very rough and sloppily played tribute to seb17320's excellent "Mos-Lab 15 demo" video. I wanted to see if I could pull-off something close using three Moog Mother-32s. The playing is really rough (due to attempting to play a solo on the little buttons instead of keys) the sequence is not very close to the original, and the video editing in general is crap (I couldn't figure out how to do Seb's 4-way split screen) but I hope everyone can appreciate the spirit that this demo was intended in! I used a touch of Valhalla VintageVerb on each part.
Seb's original video can be found here (I highly recommend watching it) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0JbLiu6yDM

Live performance of me from this evening for the Volt Divers Experimental Electronic Music Collective at the Lovecraft Bar PDX. Again, unfortunately, we only had crappy cellphone video; shot in really low light with really bad audio (and the last minute of the set was cut off because the cellphone died.) Audio version of this performance can be heard at - https://soundcloud.com/genshi/science-patrol-live-at-volt-divers-8-08-15
The pre-show rehearsal video from my studio with better, direct audio, can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt8EHB3nkGQ&feature=youtu.be
Even though I performed under the name "Science Patrol" (my analog, berlin-school/synthpop project) tonight's set was more of a cross between my experimental/cinematic "jido-genshi" project, and my industrial project "cell:burn".
Equipment used for this performance:
• Waldorf Blofeld
• Elektron Octatrack
• Teenage Engineering OP-1
• KMI QuNexus with MIDI Expander
(and no laptops!)
In addition, I've only had the Octatrack and the Blofeld for 5 days... so still learning my way around those two devices.

Another quick test of the Moog Sub 37... nine tracks recorded live into Ableton Live.
All sounds including the beat are from the Moog Sub 37 only (with a touch of delay from the Strymon El Capistan on two of the synth parts.) I tried to show a wide variety of sounds, from classic soft leads to crunchy distorted bass, as well as some filter and modulation tweaks.
And this time, instead of recording me actually playing each part (which is a pain in the butt to do) I thought I'd spare you all from having to look at my ugly hairy arms... and show more of the Light Show mode!

This is just a quick demo of the Elektron Octatrack. No other equipment, overdubs or effects were used other than the Octatrack itself. I'm still new to it (had it only for two weeks) so nothing fancy here, just trying out different samples I've made to see what goes good with what... a nice pair of headphones are highly recommended in order to hear the full frequency range.
