OnlineVideoSurfer's Mazes and Labyrinths Guide - 6-10: Dancing with Trifliens
Three trifliens and four watchers are all that stand in your way to complete world 6. The puzzle is how can you catch the trifliens and collect all the keys without either getting trapped on their islands or leaving the watchers alive to spot you and block the exit. This video will show you both the normal and medal solution.
Trivia: The name of this level is a reference to John Kraft's "The Goddess in the Labyrinth" where he discusses - among other things - common rituals and games shared among cultures where a maiden would hide in a field labyrinth and young men would (depending on the variation of the game) dance toward her in order to bring her out and make her his wife. Whether they actually wed or not after the game I cannot say!
It's a great little bit of academic research on some nearly lost history and worth picking up if you can find it. You'll probably have to import if you're in the Western Hemisphere though. References of course do not make a game or story, and this project is more concerned with puzzles and game design than anything involving world building, but I do want to list any influences when relevant. Half the fun of references is learning something new, the other half is connecting your work to something old.
The final level of world two functions as a tutorial on the reverse switch, reversing the polarity of the color switches so that unlit switches raise and lower barriers instead of lit switches. It is used in a rather basic way here, the triflien will run in circles in the lower left until you hit the reverse switch, but later stages will introduce more complex puzzles using this mechanic.

Soundtrack from the game Superhero League of Hoboken I uploaded to Youtube back in 2011 for preservation and people's enjoyment. At the time the game was considered abandonware but it looks like its copyright issues were resolved around 2019. Not my music, just a fan.
A complicated ghost house puzzle where you need to reverse your way through one way paths in order to reach the goal. You will need to understand how to use advanced clown copter tech in order to reach otherwise unreachable items, how to use dropped items to manipulate spike tops, and how to pass through the solid sides of one-way walls in order to overcome this maddening loop.
You can use pow jumps to cheese a few of the coins if you're aiming for the fastest time, but you'll still need to solve the loop using the tech I listed above.
My hope is that, like in my more complicated stages in "Mazes and Labyrinths", players will find themselves stuck for a while before the puzzle finally clicks and everything in the level is seen in a whole new light.

I had a lot of fun designing this one. The SMW Athletic Moon template lends itself to some surreal design.

Probably the music track I had the most fun composing. A synth sounding, orderly arrangement inspired from a mix of DnB, Electronic, and Dos music that is unlike anything else in the game. This world exists as a transition point to the final stages before the Omniety, introducing the final enemies, obstacles, and player ability until the end game. The musical contrast I hope sends a message that you're no longer in friendly territory anymore.

The final Chocolate Island stage before Wendy. It's a race against time as a low timer forces a speedy dash past dangerous volcano lotuses, jumping fish, super koopas, pokeys, and other lesser enemies in large numbers. This run is done without Yoshi.
