https://c.lazada.co.th/t/c.89z4Want apple pie or apple crisp but don't have an oven? Well, this recipe is for you! You can make this as an apple pie with a crispy crumble or just plain apple crisp! It's delicious either way. Go ahead and make it! It's super easy, tasty and healthy at that.
EASY RICE COOKER CAKE RECIPES: Apple Pie Crumble Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
• 6 cups (600g) CHOPPED APPLES (5 med green + red apples)
• 1 tbsp (14g) LEMON JUICE
• 1/4 cup (50g) WHITE SUGAR
• 1/4 cup (40g) BROWN SUGAR (packed)
• 2 tsp (6g) APPLE PIE SPICE (or cinnamon + 1/4 tsp nutmeg)
• 1/4 tsp SALT
• 2 tbsp (16g) CORN STARCH (corn flour)
• 1 tbsp (9g) ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
CRUST:
• 1 cup (140g) ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
• 1/4 tsp SALT
• 2 tsp (12g) WHITE SUGAR
• 1/3 cup (75g) UNSALTED BUTTER (cold & cubed)
• 1 tsp (4g) VERY COLD WATER
CRUMBLE/CRISP:
• 1/4 cup (35g) ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
• 1/4 cup (30g) ROLLED OATS
• 1 tsp (3g) GROUND CINNAMON
• 1/8 tsp SALT (a pinch)
• 1/4 cup (40g) BROWN SUGAR (packed)
• 1/4 cup (35g) CHOPPED WALNUTS
• 3 tbsp (42g) BUTTER (melted)
HOW TO:
1. Peeled and cubed/chopped 5 medium apples (green & red) to get about 6 cups
2. Add lemon juice to apples to prevent browning. Toss to coat
3. Add sugars, spices and salt then toss to coat
4. Pour apple mix into a sieve or colander to drain. "Save the juice" and also cover the apples to keep it moist
5. Prepare pie crust (see instruction below). If you are making an apple crisp, skip the crust
6. Remove the drained apple juice then add the corn starch and flour. Whisk until mixed. Microwave or cook the sauce until thicken; about 1-2 minutes
7. Mix the sauce with the apples ensuring the apples are well coated
8. Pour into the pie crust and distribute it evenly onto the bottom
9. Top it with the crumble crisp (see instruction below), distribute evenly over the top
10. Bake for 4 cycles (about 2 hours). If you like your apples more soft, then bake longer
11. Cool for 3-4 hours before cutting. The apple pie to set more and keep it's shape when you cut it.
CRUST:
1. Combined flour, salt, sugar and butter
2. Use a fork, dough cutter or food processor to blend cold butter into flour. Mixture should be loose and when pressed together, hold its shape
3. Pour mixture onto a flat surface and form it into a circular shape. If mixture is too loose, add 1 teaspoon of cold water at a time to thicken it
