I’m finally giving the IXTX240N075L2 MOSFET a test-drive. Trying out a new drive circuit for the MOSFET. And can the heat sinks I have even get close to handling 300 Watts. Testing with an old heat sink out of a Mac Pro G5 dual processor. As well as a new Noctua NH-U12S Redux heat sink. Also trying to beef up a 1 ounce copper PC board to handle 30 amps.

Oh, the excitement of getting a new toy. Disappointment, sadness and the you have to be kidding me, of a defective new toy. The journey to redemption and the satisfaction of an LED blinking. Come and enjoy the emotional roller coaster ride through time. Well, a couple of days of it anyways.

Starting the quest to build a multi-output DC-DC power supply for the electronic load. Initial test of the MAX17691A from Maxim Integrated. A very small integrated power switch flyback controller IC. And winding some small transformers for the initial testing. Loads of fun for all.
Part 14 of the DCL1 electronic load project.
Spot-weld testing some 0.15 mm thick nickel battery tab strip. Weld energy from 25 joules to over 200 joules tested. With a constant tip pressure provided by my motorized weld head project.
If you have replaced the joystick module or potentiometers in your DualSense controller and it didn’t go so well, in this video, I go over some troubleshooting ideas to help track down the problem.

Testing some 2-watt flameproof resistors. Comparing a Stackpole RSF2, a Panasonic ERG2S, and a Vishay PR020002. How much does resistor physical size affect temperature rise?
Fixing an extremely noisy LG dishwasher model LDF5545ST. The noise, coming from a bearing in the circulating pump drive-motor.
Tearing down the circulating pump/motor to try and find the root cause of the failure.
