COMCEN aka UGHQ was based for a periods inside Portsdown Hill during the war and served during a few more cold war crisis in later years. Now it is an airsoft arena with spooky tunnels and a military feel to the construction.

The neighbours who apparently bought this place because it was abandoned overgrown and probably due to the death or care home infirment of its owner were not happy to see people around their INVESTMENT...
Whilst the owner liked throwing around instructions like YOUR NOT LEAVING and I CAN SUE YOU... Trespass is ILLEGAL (which it isnt its civil - only aggrivated tresspass is illegal)... They were up on their high horses as lords of their manor. Whilst they were clearly misinformed on some areas of the law and quite happy to get in the faces of unknown people that would be far better dealt with by calling the police, I do understand their frustration and also I do appreciate that they are trying to protect this property which is of course a good thing. However the semi aggressive stance instead of just talking to us calmly like normal human beings did test our patience.
Far better to tidy up the property so it doesnt look ABANDONED and clean it out and get it ready for sale. The way it was having been left for so long made it a target. Heras fences generally are a big advertisement for any Urbexer so totally the wrong look if you want to keep people away. HERAS FENCE is a number one BAD RED FLAG. I hope these people now learn this. Driving down any road my eyes immediately see HERAS as a prime indicator of somewhere to go and take a look at.
Anyhow no broken eggs at the end of the day but as I did explain we hadnt done anything wrong and speaking the to the police can be a waste of our time, even though the neighbours didnt seem to understand this.
Perhaps everyone can get an education from this and see that if the neighbours had spoken to us like the police were able to then much could have been learned and nobody needed to throw their toys out of the pram in order to get their points across. I hope this helps people understand why we dont like hanging around to talk to security, owners, police and its not because we cant its because people security and owners have their own agendas and skewed ideas of what is right and wrong or legal or illegal and they differ so wildly that we are usually better just getting swiftly away or dealing only with the police.
Here you can see I stay to make a point....
I think this also illustrates the problems you can encounter when doing residential urban "time capsules"
Nuff said.

Construction
It was built in 1838 by James T. Knowles for George Wyndham, 4th Earl of Egremont, of Orchard Wyndham, Somerset. Originally designed as an Italianate palace, there were no funds to complete it on such a scale, so it was constructed as two smaller, linked buildings for the Earl and his cousin, the local rector. His other nearby palatial Devon residence Silverton Park, (demolished in 1901) was also designed in this style but was never completed.
The house is a square block constructed from stuccoed brick, with stone dressings and has hipped slate roofs with red ridge tiles. It has an arched colonnade or loggia around it on three sides and has two separate sets of stairs on either side so that each half of the house could be accessed independently. These entrance towers were originally 70 feet (21 m) tall but the top stage of each has been dismantled. There are two service wings around a courtyard and the building is two storeys tall throughout with a total of 60 rooms. There are small square windows on the upper floors designed to resemble the gunports of George Wyndham's ship, HMS Hawke. The central court yard, was covered in a glass dome and acted as a great hall but no longer has any sort of roof. The house has 10 acres (4 ha) of grounds surrounding it.[1][2][3][4]
History of owners and uses
Blackborough House with scrapyard in foreground
The Devonshire historian Pole (d.1635)[5] gives the arms of "Bolegh of Blackburgh Bolley" as: Argent, on a chevron sable three bezants between three torteaux. This is the family of "Bolley (or Bolhay)" mentioned by Chalk (1910).[6] The house was used as the rectory until 1894 and for some of that time was also a school for local children.[3] In the middle of the nineteenth century a group of mostly Irish students studied with the Rev. William Cookesley Thompson at the house. Around the start of the twentieth century it was rented by an old woman and her daughter.[7] From 1930 to 1939 it was a home for vagrants run by the council and the Church of England.[8][9] It was a Quaker training centre for conscientious objectors doing relief work during World War II.[10] From 1943 to 1946 or 1947, while still owned by the Quakers, it was used a YHA Youth Hostel known as Spiceland (named after the location of a Friends Meeting House, several miles away in the parish of Uffculme).[11] It became a vehicle breakers' yard in 1951. In 2013 the house was used as a location in a low budget horror movie called In Fear.[12]
Decline and restoration plans

By 2011 the house was semi-derelict and had long been surrounded by a car scrap yard[2] owned since about 1995 by Ralph Sanders, an amateur racing driver,[13] who operated a car spare-pa

We were all given the task of showing a piece of drone footage which was shot by Urban Legend UK.
The idea was then that we should edit it up in our own styles and resubmit to show on a special show. The show was broadcast on Urban Legends Live Stream and we compared the entries.

THIS IS PART2... part3 coming soon
Kingsway Telephone Exchange -
The Kingsway telephone exchange was built as a deep-level shelter underneath Chancery Lane tube station in the early 1940s, consisting of two east–west aligned tunnels, one on each side of the Central Line.[3] Although intended for use as an air raid shelter, like many of the deep level shelters, it was not used for its intended purpose and was instead used as a government communications centre. Material from the Public Record Office was stored there from 1945 to 1949.
The tunnel in 2014
The site was given to the General Post Office in 1949. At the time, the Post Office was also responsible for telephones as well as postal system. The two-tunnel shelter was extended by the addition of four shorter tunnels, at right angles to the original pair. This extension was completed by 1954,and the exchange opened on 30 October 1954. In 1956 it became the UK termination point for TAT-1, the first transatlantic telephone cable.
Throughout the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, Kingsway Trunk Switching Centre (as it became known) was a trunk switching centre and repeater station with Post Office engineering staff totalling over 200 at its peak. After the exchange was wound down the site was used for the Radio Interference Investigation Group, whose function was to prevent television viewers and radio listeners in north and central London from suffering interference to their service from external sources such as thermostats, fluorescent tubes and injection moulding equipment. The country's first radio paging terminal was also installed on this site in the 1970s. In the 1980s it housed Kingsway Computer Centre, a backup for ICARUS (international circuit allocation record update system)
The site had a staff restaurant, tea bar, games room and licensed bar. Its bar claimed to be the deepest in the United Kingdom, at about 200 feet (60 metres) below street level. The site contained an artesian well and rations to maintain several hundred people for many months, to try to ensure a safe environment in case of nuclear attack.
