Ayodhya residents in India's Uttar Pradesh welcomed two rare shaligram stones arriving from Nepal for the construction of statues. The stones are typically prehistoric fossils of ammonite shells dating back from 400 to 66 million years ago. The statues made of the stones will be placed in a local Hindu temple, which is considered the birthplace of Rama. The work is expected to be completed next year.

To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Jamal Kanj, author of ‘Children of Catastrophe: Journey from a Palestinian Refugee Camp to America’.

The tragedy of the war in Ukraine is so visceral and dramatic that it may easily conceal other repercussions or other casualties of the Russian-Western clash, which has already adversely affected many countries, especially in the global south. How is this seemingly faraway regional conflict seen from the largest and one of the most ethnically diverse countries in South America? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Gilson Schwartz, Professor of Economics at the University of Sao Paulo.
