"Snow in June" is a famous Chinese drama written during the Yuan Dynasty. It tells the story of a young lady who was wrongly convicted of crimes by a corrupt official and was sent to be executed. Before being executed, the young woman cried out to heaven to prove her innocence which brought about 3 unusual weather phenomenon to her hometown: bloody rain, snow in June, and a 3-year drought.
The metaphor "Snow in June" is a metaphor still used today among Chinese speakers when referring to a miscarriage of justice.
In some areas of China's Xinjiang region, heavy snow began to fall in the evening of June 28. The following day, the ground was covered with 30 centimeters (1 foot) of snow.

Many Chinese industries have suffered tough times as a result of businesses closing down due to the CCP virus pandemic. The regime continues to ignore people’s basic needs and doesn’t provide subsidies or relief when they need it the most. People have protested in waves through walkouts demanding pandemic aid relief. Meanwhile the regime is pushing people to return to work.

Recently, a clothing company owner Chen Dong (alias) told The Epoch Times that a lack of business operations during the pandemic has put the garment industry in a very difficult situation. Many owners decided to walk out to demand their rents be waived. It was said that some owners even openly demanded, “State compensation!”
-
Chen Dong: There has been a demand for reducing up to half-a-year rent here in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province.
Chen Dong: There were many people petitioning this--thousands of them. We have 38 clothing markets here.
Chen Dong: Many people have posted videos of the petition in TikTok these days. Someone who petitioned told me certain TikTok accounts have been suspended for 7 to 14 days.
Reporter: How was the petition today? Was the petition resolved?
Chen Dong: Many local officials and market managers arrived at the market. They came to the shops and the factories to persuade us not to petition. They said they’ll reduce half a month of maintenance fee, and waive one month rent for those who signed a yearly contract. I didn’t go today because my wife asked me not to. There were many videos online this morning. It was said that 7 people were arrested. With petitions like this, I believe these people will be released sooner than later, as long as they don’t go to extremes like saying the slogan, “down with the CCP”. Otherwise, you could be jailed for half a year. I have friends who have experienced things like that.
Reporter: The bad market will drive more people to demand a rent reduction. What do you think will happen next?
Chen Dong: The pandemic doesn’t only affect the clothing industry. Construction projects have also stopped for quite a long time. Migrant workers haven’t returned. There’s no sign of them returning to work and their machines have been turned off. The pandemic has struck a huge blow to the economy.
Reporter: What’s the general public opinion on this?
Chen Dong: People are told to return to work, but in fact, many people don’t dare to do so because they’re afraid of contracting the virus. This is devastating to the economy. But, our government doesn’t even hand out $2,000 to help us. Here it is not like the US and Canada.
Report: It is said Wuhan has been locked down again.
Chen Dong: I am a Wuhan native, but a long time ago, I moved to Zhuzhou. As far as I know, initially, Zhuzhou City allowed H

Chinese mask factories are closing down. Many netizens and business owners revealed the reasons: rapid expansion, a huge increase in prices of machinery and raw materials, and the inability to export masks after international requirements became stricter. One netizen commented: “Mask factories closed down, Chinese-made masks are worth less than papers, this is the epitome of the bankruptcy of Chinese mask diplomacy!”
On May 2, a mask factory closed down in Anqing City in Anhui province and a video of the unmarketable masks piling up in the yard has been circulating online. In fact, as early as April 25, netizens exposed that the mask factories in Shenzhen are now closed too.
Anqing City is a base of the medical masks industry. Netizens exposed that a while ago, hundreds of mask factories were established overnight in Tongcheng County of Anqing. So far, more than a thousand mask factories stopped their operations.
An employee of a mask factory, Mr. Li, indicated that after the prices of machinery and raw materials increased and the exporting of masks failed due to strict requirements from the international community on quality, many mask factories have closed down.
“The nonwoven fabric, used as the middle layer, now costs more than $700,000 yuan ($99,110 USD) per ton. The cost of manufacturing is high, so they are unable to continue producing.”
A video dated April 30 on YouTube shows that a mask factory closed down and the employee went to find jobs at another mask factory without success. Many mask factories have stopped hiring.
-
“This was the mask factory I used to work at and now there is nobody, it is closed down for sure.”
“Boss, are you hiring? No? Not hiring. Hmm, many factories stopped their production.”
“Boss, do you need anybody here? Not hiring.”
“It is wrong that everybody went straight ahead to produce facial masks. The real medical facial masks need to be produced in a sterile environment and it is totally irresponsible to sell masks that are produced in regular workshops or in garages. Therefore, some masks are not selling and the production stopped, as a result, factories closed down.”
At first, China fooled the world with its masks, now that the U.S. became self-sufficient and Taiwan was able to export masks, the pandemic has eased! China's massive production capacity was completely abandoned! The price of greed!”
