"A remake of an old AMV from December 2008. I think the new version is much better than the old one, but since I was still new at making AMVs back then, I think that one's pretty good by itself." - 5/24/2011
The original upload featured the 2008 version for comparison's sake, but I've omitted that since it's available here on my channel this time.
I still stand by this. Dubs are not inherently bad, or even inferior. Each one is its own product, and can be equal, inferior, or even superior to the original, on its own merits. To write them ALL off as lesser by virtue of simply being in English is to be stuck in the Harmony Gold/DiC/4Kids era. Even modern Funimation, for all of its faults, puts out quality dubs when they're not being toxic buffoons.
My first AMV of 2009. Repetition of clips is something I was still guilty of at this point, and wouldn't break out of for a while yet, but you can see where I was practicing with matching movement to music and even experimenting with telling a story through my choice of clips and music. Something I almost see as a requirement in my videos now.
"I was watching the Japanese openings and as much as they're a far cry better than the 4Kids GX opening, I thought some of them didn't sync very well and felt like they were dragging on a bit. So I thought I'd make my own." - 12/16/2010
The reasoning I followed for making my choices in the Sailor Moon re-dub fan cast.
I put the word "lesson" in quotes here because it was in the original title and I didn't want to remove it, but if this even qualifies as such, it's a poor one. I also changed the word "To" to "I" to better reflect the more subjective nature of the argumentation in its current state. I do think I'll re-evaluate this from a more adult perspective at some point. Maybe even in a Your Argument Sucks video.
Yup, I actually did this. I don't speak a lick of Korean, so this was really just to practice more with Vegas and get something more fun and fast-paced out there that was energetic, but still different from the more serious music videos I usually do, in line with the general change in tone my videos had been seeing around this time.
