Was debating whether or not to post this vlog I filmed a couple of weeks ago considering everything that has been going on recently but… perhaps it will serve as a welcome distraction? Especially because the message contained within is valuable now more than ever. Our intuition, our innate mind-body intelligence, is the greatest tool we have to help us navigate these uncertain times. For many of us, our routines have been completely disturbed, putting us into states of extreme discomfort.
Be compassionate, lower the rigid expectations you’ve placed on yourself and listen to your body - it will tell you what it needs. Remember, this is all temporary and we will all be okay.

I know I’ve been making a lot of past-focused content recently, so as a break from that, here is what my life is looking like in the present. I split myself into three main roles during my work week - that of a web designer/developer, that of a barista, and that of a digital content creator/YouTuber. How do we come to terms with the inequality present in our reality? I just got back from Costa Rica, after spending an entire week there and I have some reflections that I’d like to share.
This was my first trip outside of Canada for which I was fully awake and aware of what was going on around me. I mean, I have travelled to Pakistan (where I am originally from) in the past, but I was much younger then and didn’t have the ability yet to reflect much on what I was experiencing. When I was younger, it was easy for me to brush off unfair situations because when I looked around, the adults weren’t bothered and to me that meant that it was normal and must therefore be okay (such as when we visited a family member and they had a 10 year old live-in maid working for them day and night). Only now I am coming to realize how much these experiences have shaped me.
It’s tough to be confronted with your own life’s abundance when face to face with those who have so much less. But, it is also a great opportunity to renew your sense of gratefulness towards your current life situation.

This has been a long time coming! Ever since I went on the combination birth control pill Alesse almost 5 years ago, I immediately felt that something was off… It was my intuition telling me that something didn’t feel right, but I ignored it because everyone kept telling me that it was no big deal! Plus, the negative effects seemed subtle!
“Everyone has side effects when they start hormonal birth control, we just have to deal with it!”
But why?! Why can’t I prevent pregnancy and ALSO feel my best? Last week, I decided that enough was enough and that I would stop taking the pill immediately in favour of a natural birth control method - fertility awareness.
I wanted to document my journey to track any changes in my body that I notice in the process of switching to hormone free birth control (hence why I’ve created this series)! I’ll also be sharing insights about what it’s like to be more in tune with your menstrual cycle by keeping close track of it!
