Gracie and I decided to take the train from Cha-Am down to Hua Hin this morning. Unlike in the past when we have gone to Hua Hin for running errands and such things, only going for a few hours, we would take a mini van. This trip will involve a few "new" experiences.
First, we plan on staying overnight.
Second, we will be taking the train. This part I'm really psyched for!!
The State Railway of Thailand or SRT system, I pleasantly learned, is a pretty mature system. It's not brand new nor amazingly shiny like you'd experience in China's Mega Cities or that of Japan however, I felt quite safe and the cost, or more accurately, the VALUE, is exceptional.
So for part one, join us on the beginning of our journey and our ~30 minute ride south.
Thanks for watching.
Happy New Year!

Welcome BACK to the continuation of our morning walk on the Jetty at Scituate Harbor Llighthouse.
Even after walking msot of the Jetty, after having a bit of a light lunch a.k.a. snack in the car as some rain drops fell on our heads, we decided to walk around the lighthouse and the on the Jetty some more. SO, wanted to share my thoughts.
I hope wherever you are watching & listening to this you are safe and happy and you are LIVING THE DREAM!
All the best,

A quick walk from the Prachuap Khiri Khan train station, straight toward the beach and then walk about 1 block south and you will reach the Hadthong Hotel.

Its got GREAT VIEWS. The physical plant is pretty weathered on the south side and my recommendation is that you book one of their "Suite" rooms as those are newer and much nicer. Additionally, if you can get a high floor (higher than 4th floor) you can really take advantage of leaving the windows open all night long and listening to the sound of the waves! Just Awesome.
That said, were got a GREAT deal of only 1200 THB (~$40 USD at the current exchange rate, Dec 2019) as the views and sounds were great. Do be aware that many of the rooms are pretty weathered and if we had to do it over again, we would Definitely look at the room more thoroughly before "signing on the dotted line" and, the next time we got to PKK, we will likely stay at the SUN BEACH GUEST HOUSE or ZEA ZIDE Hotel (very new).
This is just a quick tour of our hotel room and the view.
MUCH MORE INTERESTING STUFF coming from our trip to Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Stay tuned!

Gracie and I took a quick walk across Sukhumvit to a new little spa. With the newness also came a great price on massages, about 50% off. We have had Thai massages as well as foot massages. Both were excellent so I wanted to make sure I gave them some kudos in YouTube. If you are ever around the Thong Lo BTS Skytrain stop or near Thong Lor Soi and Sukhumvit, we can highly recommend these folks. Great great and warm hands.
Enjoy!

I've noticed that Thailand, more than any other country, will assign the name of a National Park to big portions of land, that are then split up. Rather than, "National Park North", "National Park South"-kind of thing. I certainly have ZERO complaints about this. We love the National and "Forest" parks we've been able to visit in Thailand in the last few years. Today, we enter what I would call the "Southern" part of Sirinat (Sirinath) National park. Just north of Bang Tao Beach here on the west coast of Phuket.
Hope you enjoy the video and our little road trip!
We hope wherever you are you're safe, happy and LIVING THE DREAM!
All the best,
~mikes & Gracie

I wanted to share about the Balikbayan Boxes that I just shipped to the Philippines. If you are not familiar with it a Balikbayan Box used for shipping goods from the US to the Philippines. It is about $100 for a box that is about 6 cu.ft. in volume. Its a similar paradigm as "if it fits, its ships" that the USPS has. Meaning: the weight is irrelevant. HOWEVER, the downside is, you cannot ship electronics or phones.. Grrrr... i have about 4 phones I need to ship to Gracie but unfortunately This will not be the solution for that.. Oh well.
Also, while the cost could be considered reasonable, it takes at least a month for the box to get there and in my case, the boxes are going to Aklan so it will be taking 2 months.
Oh well, its nothing critical, just household goods, bedsheets, etc. that I would want to have when I get over there... Well, actually, I am really most interested to see how long it really Does take to get there and if it really is "door to door" as advertised.
I was a bit bummed that they only take cash or checks... kinda lame but whatever.
I'll keep you updated to on the progress!
Thanks for watching.

From the Koh Chang Ferry pier, the closest beach is one to the left (south) as you exit the pier. It's small and uninhabited, sans the abandoned resort, and not kept up BUT it is a nice sandy, warm beach. A sight I have not experienced in WAAY too long.
So, just thought I'd check in and say Aloha.
Hope you're living the dream!

Greetings and aloha from the west side of Phuket. Started out in Kamala and rode the bike up to Surin Beach: an AMAZING place to watch sunset, I'm my opinion.
Hope wherever and whenever you are watching this, you are safe and happy.
